As a Research & Development Intern - Glass Engineering Intern in R&D you will work side by side with other engineering professionals and leadership by participating in hands on activities such as sampling, analysis, troubleshooting, and process improvements as well as being responsible for documentation and various initiatives.\nYour Day to Day:\nWork under supervision of senior engineers.\nDevelop systems for high temperature glass analysis. Collaborate with manufacturing facilities to ensure designs work for all parties.\nPhysical testing of glass properties.\nData analysis and statistical process control on measurements\nDocumentation and record keeping.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nPursuing a bachelor’s degree in materials science, ceramics engineering, glass engineering or other relevant engineering discipline.\nUpcoming senior or recent undergraduate that is pursuing further education. \nAbility to start full time in May 2027 and work until August 2027.\nMicrosoft Office (Word, Excel PowerPoint, Outlook).\nAbility to work in a team environment.\nExcellent verbal and communication skills.\nAbility to work with several engineers on various projects.\nAbility to coordinate and work with cross functional groups including Analytical, Business and Sourcing Groups.\nPreferred Qualifications\nGPA of at least 3.0 at an accredited college or university.\nDemonstrated leadership skills.\nBasic understanding of production processes\nStrategic and creative thinking\nSolid works experience\nINTERNSHIP PROGRAM\nThe Johns Manville Internship Program is designed to provide challenging and fulfilling work in your area of expertise.
