Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.\nThe Senior Category Manager will lead sourcing strategy and commercial execution for capital equipment (CAPEX), engineering services, construction services, industrial gases, and energy/sustainability initiatives across Johns Manville. This role is accountable for delivering measurable cost savings, reducing commercial risk, improving supplier performance, and ensuring successful execution of strategic capital projects.\nThe ideal candidate has strategic sourcing experience, including significant exposure to capital equipment procurement, engineering service providers, EPC firms, and large-scale capital projects. This individual has demonstrated success negotiating complex commercial agreements, managing supplier relationships, and partnering with engineering, operations, and business leaders to drive results.\nWhat Success Looks Like\nDevelop and implement category strategies that deliver annual cost savings while supporting operational, quality, and project objectives.\nEstablish preferred supplier strategies across key CAPEX and engineering-related categories, resulting in improved supplier performance, reduced risk, and increased value.\nPartner with Engineering, Operations, and Business Leaders to support major capital projects through competitive sourcing, contract negotiation, and supplier management.\nLead negotiations for high-value capital equipment, engineering services, construction, and sustainability projects that improve commercial outcomes and protect JM from contractual and financial risk.\nDrive continuous improvement in supplier performance through scorecards, strategic reviews, and development plans.\nIdentify opportunities to improve working capital, total cost of ownership, project execution, and supply continuity.\nSupport JM's sustainability and energy initiatives through strategic supplier partnerships and sourcing programs.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategic Category Leadership\nDevelop and execute category strategies for capital equipment, engineering services, construction services, industrial gases, and energy-related spend.\nBuild strong partnerships with Operations, Engineering, Project Managers, Finance, and Business Leaders to align sourcing strategies with business objectives.\nEvaluate market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry benchmarks to identify opportunities and risks.\nCapital Project Sourcing\nLead sourcing activities for major capital projects from project conception through supplier selection and contract execution.\nPartner with engineering teams to develop sourcing plans, supplier selection criteria, and commercial strategies for capital investments.\nIdentify opportunities to reduce total installed cost while maintaining project quality, schedule, and operational requirements.\nContracting & Commercial Excellence\nNegotiate complex contracts, commercial agreements, MSAs, and project-specific agreements with equipment manufacturers, engineering firms, and construction contractors.\nEnsure contractual terms appropriately address business needs, commercial risk, schedule requirements, warranties, performance guarantees, and supplier accountability.\nServe as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on supplier negotiations and commercial risk management.\nSupplier Performance & Risk Management\nEstablish supplier performance metrics and scorecards for key strategic suppliers.\nLead supplier evaluations, qualification programs, and supplier development initiatives.\nDevelop mitigation strategies for supplier, market, and project risks impacting capital investments.\nFinancial Performance\nDeliver annual savings and value-creation targets across assigned categories.\nImprove working capital performance and total cost of ownership.\nTrack and communicate sourcing results, project savings, and supplier performance metrics to stakeholders and leadership.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, Finance, or related field.\n8+ years of strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or supply chain experience.\nDemonstrated experience sourcing and negotiating:Capital equipment\nEngineering services\nConstruction services\nEPC and project-based contracts\nIndustrial manufacturing suppliers\n\nProven success supporting large capital projects in industrial, manufacturing, energy, or engineering-driven environments.\nStrong commercial negotiation and contract management expertise.\nWorking knowledge of contract law, risk allocation, terms and conditions, and supplier agreements.\nExperience managing supplier relationships and executing supplier performance programs.\nStrong analytical and financial acumen, including total cost of ownership analysis and ROI evaluations.\nExperience working within SAP or a comparable ERP system.\nPreferred Qualifications\nCPSM, CPM, or equivalent procurement certification.\nExperience supporting energy reduction, sustainability, renewable energy, or utility-related sourcing initiatives.\nBackground working closely with engineering, operations, manufacturing, or project execution teams.\nExperience sourcing globally and managing complex supplier networks.\n#LI-MA1 #LI-hybrid #P #D\nPlease Keep in Mind\nIf you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you.
