Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus.\nThe Senior Product Engineer is responsible for supporting markets and customers by providing the link between product development R&D, application development, and manufacturing. The Senior Product Engineer will design and implement product improvements to existing product lines that improve products’ value proposition to internal or external customers as well as develop new products to meet customer needs based on existing products in the market.\nYour Day-to-Day:\nLead new product and process development when they move past the R&D phase and are being scaled up at JM's manufacturing facilities.\nProvide internal and external (customer) technical service to operations when customer issues and complaints arise for existing and new products.\nDesign and implement product improvements to existing product lines that improve the products value proposition to internal or external customers.\nDevelop new products to meet customer needs based on products in the market.\nCreate manufacturing specifications by performing complex experiments to link product requirements to manufacturing capabilities.\nDesign solutions for equipment issues.\nDrive excellence in staged product development and in project management in the Innovation Commercialization Group.\nDemonstrate aggressive IP protection attitude for new developments.\nKeep abreast of market intelligence on competitor's technology and product platforms and feedback into IC group and business team.\nIdentify requirements and develop product definitions for potential new developments that will lead to solutions that provide value to our customers.\nMay be required to perform other related duties as assigned.\nWhat You Bring to the Team:\nBachelor's degree in chemical (preferred) or mechanical engineering or a degree in a related STEM field with a minimum of 5 years’ engineering experience or relevant JM engineering experience. \nMaster’s degree in engineering with a minimum of 3 years’ engineering experience or relevant JM engineering experience.\nPhD with a minimum of 1 year engineering experience\nAbility to translate complex technical needs into robust products.\nAbility to manage multiple projects independently with strong project management skills.\nStrong technical skills in data gathering, statistical and engineering analysis and evaluation.\nDemonstrated success in launching new products or driving improvement initiatives that have resulted in successful business impacts.\nAdvanced knowledge of engineering principles and problem-solving techniques. Experience with feasibility studies and validation testing.\nSupervises/Leads individuals or a project team to achieve milestones and objectives by setting priorities and providing direction. May provide feedback for performance evaluations.\nStrong leadership skills.\nProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.\nStrong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.\nAbility and willingness to work in a production environment during trials.\nAbility to execute on deliverables.\nAbility to work independently and with cross-functional teams.\nHeavy travel required (20%-35%)\nAbility and willingness to work hands-on to solve equipment and mechanical issues.\nMay be required to lift, carry, push or pull up to and including 25 pounds.\nWork environment is typical of a research and development facility; during plant trials may be exposed to environmental conditions of cold, heat, high noise levels, moving mechanical parts, heights, dust/mist/gas/fumes, extensive walking or climbing, etc\nPlease Keep in Mind\nIf you do not meet 100% of these requirements, we at JM still want to hear from you.
