This role performs payroll audits, reviews timekeeping records, reconciles payroll data, administers garnishments, and assists with payroll tax and year-end activities. The Payroll Specialist partners closely with Human Resources, Finance, managers, and employees to ensure payroll accuracy, regulatory compliance, and exceptional customer service.\nJob Description:\nProcess payroll transactions accurately and timely for all employees.\nReview employee time sheets and audit timekeeping records to ensure payroll accuracy and compliance with company policies.\nGenerate, review, and analyze payroll-related reports in Workday.\nAudit payroll transactions and payroll processes to identify, investigate, and resolve discrepancies.\nSupport the processing and validation of weekly and bi-weekly payroll cycles.\nPartner with Human Resources on payroll-related activities, including leave administration, benefits processing, and time-tracking audits.\nManage wage attachments and garnishments, including child support orders, tax levies, agency correspondence, system setup, payment processing, and employee communications.\nMonitor and respond to payroll inbox inquiries, providing timely and professional support to employees and managers.\nAssist with year-end payroll activities, including W-2 preparation, reconciliations, audits, and regulatory reporting.\nReconcile payroll taxes and assist with payroll tax filings and related audits.\nEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations and company policies.\nEstablish and maintain positive working relationships with employees, managers, and business partners.\nAssist with State Agency tax notices\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nQualifications\nAssociate degree in Accounting, Finance, Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.\nMinimum of 3 years of payroll processing experience; multi-state payroll experience preferred.\nExperience with payroll systems and reporting tools; Workday experience preferred.\nExperience reviewing timekeeping records, payroll audits, and payroll reconciliation processes.\nKnowledge of weekly and bi-weekly payroll processing practices.\nWorking knowledge of garnishments, child support orders, federal and state levies, and wage attachments.\nKnowledge of payroll tax regulations, filings, and reconciliation processes.\nBasic knowledge of union agreements and payroll administration.\nStrong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.\nAbility to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism and discretion.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills.\n Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications\nThe expected pay range for this role is $50,000 - $70,000.
