Using a TIG-welding process (by machine) this person welds stainless steel cylinders; in addition, they will train to perform hand-weld repairs. In addition to operating the welding equipment, the person assists with the responsibilities of a Machine Operator I. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMust be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. Must have reading, writing and simple math skills. Must be able to read blue prints. Must have previous experience working as a Machine Operator I within Stainless Steel. Must have welding experience and knowledge of TIG welding as would be shown by the passing of a hands-on competency test; the knowledge one might get from a vocational school course is helpful.\nENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS\nComply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment:\nComply with safety rules\nAttend and Participate in Safety Training\nParticipate actively in the safety process\nAsk questions if something isn’t known\nReport all accidents and injuries immediately\nSubmit suggestions to improve safety\nKnow responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e. what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.)\nBe a coach to others who are acting unsafely\nMust have Lock-out tags\nAttend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.\nAbility to recognize chemical hazardous labels.\nSpill management and clean-up.\nAir shutoff locations.\nCapability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.\nProficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.\nDUTIES\nOperates highly complex machinery used in the production process. From prints, adjusts and tig welds stainless steel shells and components.\nPerforms semi-complex machine set-ups; loads welder with component parts to be welded.\nEnsures machines are operating at required capacity and that production requirements are met.\nMonitors the performance of equipment; identifies, troubleshoots, and resolves problems in order to maintain efficient operations.\nObserves machine operation to verify accuracy of machine settings and to detect malfunctions or out of tolerance production.
