This role will also perform duties as required by a Team Lead/Supervisor/Manufacturing Operations Manager, in multiple departments as needed.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nFabrication and assembly of sheet metal components as per schematic under supervision of a supervisor.\nProficient with small hand and power tools such as wrenches, drills, and grinders.\nFamiliarize self with and/or request training concerning new small/hand-held equipment.\nAssistance and compliance with company inventory requirements.\nUnloading products received and loading finished products for delivery.\nMaintain small/hand-held equipment in good working order and notify Supervisor of malfunctions.\nAssist trades people, Team Lead/Supervisor/Manufacturing Operations Manager with responsibilities pertinent to progress of project in a safe manner and in accordance with 5-S program.\nLiaise with a Team Lead/Supervisor/Manufacturing Operations Manager to find and confirm new duties.\nFamiliarize self with new project and duties.\nOrganize and clean department, particularly at the end of each workday.\nNotify the Team Lead/Supervisor/Manufacturing Operations Manager of any unsafe conditions, practices, or procedures observed.\nMay be required to move materials with forklift or overhead crane if trained and authorized.\nPerforms all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.\nOther duties as required.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nAbility to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.\nEffective communication skills.\nTime management skills.\nCritical eye for identifying defects.\nKnowledge of appropriate materials, methods, and the tools required in various assembly processes.\nAbility to work independently and complete daily activities according to work schedule.\nKnowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.\nMust have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.\nMust be able to read a tape measure and perform simple mathematical fractional equations.\nAbility to read blueprints is considered an asset.\nWorking Conditions\nCommercial/Industrial environment.\nManual dexterity required to use necessary tools.\nExercise caution, as the environment presents many naturally occurring hazards.\nAlways adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).\nLong periods of standing.\nOvertime as required.\nContacts\nCommunication is primarily internal to the assigned work team and Team Lead/Supervisor/ Manufacturing Operations Manager.\nJohnson Controls’ Canadian subsidiaries are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants, candidates and employees with disabilities, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, and in Ontario, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
