You will be responsible for the financial, operational, and customer success of assigned projects while managing project teams, subcontractors, engineers, and field personnel throughout the project lifecycle.\nWorking closely with customers, consultants, contractors, field operations, engineering teams, and subcontractors, you will provide leadership throughout the full project lifecycle from project turnover through commissioning and customer acceptance.\nResponsibilities Include:\nLeading HVAC controls and BAS projects to successful completion while meeting schedule, budget, quality, and contractual requirements.\nManaging project financial performance, including forecasting, revenue recognition, cost control, billing, collections, and cash flow.\nDriving change order identification, development, negotiation, and execution.\nCoordinating engineering, software development, field installation, network integration, startup, commissioning, and owner training activities.\nManaging subcontractors, vendors, and internal resources across multiple disciplines.\nEnsuring compliance with Johnson Controls safety standards and customer site requirements.\nMaintaining strong customer relationships while proactively managing project risks and issues.\nSupporting value engineering efforts that enhance customer outcomes and project profitability.\nHow You Will Do It\nServe as the primary project leader responsible for planning, directing, and controlling all aspects of HVAC Controls and BAS projects.\nProject Execution\nDevelop and maintain detailed project schedules and milestone plans.\nCoordinate engineering, controls programming, graphics development, panel fabrication, network implementation, installation, startup, and commissioning activities.\nEnsure project deliverables align with contract requirements and customer expectations.\nLead project meetings with customers, consulting engineers, general contractors, and internal stakeholders.\nFinancial Management\nMaintain project profitability through effective cost control and forecasting.\nMonitor labor productivity, subcontractor performance, equipment procurement, and project budgets.\nDrive billing and collection activities to maintain positive cash flow.\nPrepare and present project financial reviews to leadership.\nTechnical Leadership\nOversee projects involving:\nBuilding Automation Systems (BAS)\nHVAC Controls\nChiller Plant Optimization\nAir Handler Controls\nCentral Utility Plant Controls\nEnergy Management Systems\nBACnet and IP-Based Building Networks\nIntegration with Mechanical Equipment and Third-Party Systems\nCommissioning and Functional Performance Testing\nCollaborate with engineering and field teams to resolve technical and operational challenges while ensuring systems are installed, programmed, tested, and commissioned in accordance with project specifications and company standards.\nRisk Management\nReview contract requirements and proactively identify project risks.\nManage customer directives, scope changes, schedule impacts, and subcontractor issues.\nDevelop mitigation plans to address schedule, financial, and operational concerns.\nCustomer Success\nBuild trusted relationships with owners, contractors, facility operators, and consulting engineers.\nCommunicate project progress, risks, and financial status effectively.\nSupport customer training, turnover activities, and project closeout documentation.\nWhat We Look For\nRequired\nBachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Building Automation, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\n Five (5) or more years of project management experience in HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), mechanical construction, or related building systems projects.\nDemonstrated experience managing controls, automation, or mechanical projects with responsibility for financial performance, execution, and customer satisfaction.\nStrong understanding of:Building Automation Systems (BAS)\nHVAC Systems\nControls Installation and Integration\nCommissioning Processes\nBuilding Networks and System Integration\nMechanical Construction Coordination\n\nExperience managing subcontractors, vendors, and multiple project stakeholders.\nStrong financial management skills including forecasting, cost control, change order management, billing, and collections.\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to customers and non-technical audiences.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, project scheduling software, and financial management systems.\nAbility to travel as required by assigned projects.\nPreferred\nPMP Certification or willingness to obtain certification within two years of employment.\nExperience with Johnson Controls Metasys, Facility Explorer, or other BAS platforms.\nExperience with BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, and IP-based controls networks.\nExperience managing projects in healthcare, higher education, government, industrial, pharmaceutical, mission-critical, or data center environments.\nExperience leading commissioning, integrated systems testing, and owner training activities.\nHIRING SALARY RANGE: $92,000- 139,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
