Your expertise will directly support uptime, energy optimization, and customer trust.\nYou will:\nLead preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of HVAC and building automation systems within high-availability data center environments.\nServe as a technical mentor and coach for branch technicians, helping elevate skill levels and ensure consistent, high-quality service delivery.\nProvide Level 1 technical support and act as a go-to resource for complex system issues.\nEnsure all work meets federal, state, and local requirements while upholding the highest ethical and safety standards.\nDeliver clear, accurate service documentation and communicate findings and recommendations to customers.\nAct as a trusted advisor-identifying inefficiencies, proposing solutions, and supporting customers in making informed decisions about system upgrades and repairs.\nHow You Will Do It\nYou’ll bring leadership, technical depth, and customer-focused communication to every interaction.\nYou will:\nModel and enforce Johnson Controls and customer safety standards, promoting a culture of safety across all job sites.\nProvide on-the-job training, guidance, and escalation support for technicians and subcontractors.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex HVAC and controls issues, offering expert-level insight and solutions.\nCollaborate with branch leadership to ensure operational discipline, technician development, and consistent service quality.\nSupport estimating and quoting for labor and materials, helping scope and plan service and installation work.\nCommunicate proactively with customers-explaining work performed, identifying system concerns, and recommending enhancements.\nManage your workload to deliver timely, professional service that meets or exceeds customer expectations.\nContinuously develop your technical expertise through self-study, training, and certifications.\nIdentify opportunities to improve facility performance and present value-driven recommendations, including quotes for upgrades or repairs.\nWhat We Look For\nRequired Qualifications\nWe’re looking for a leader who brings both technical mastery and strong people skills.\nYou should have:\nDemonstrated leadership experience-coaching, coordinating, or supervising technicians or contractors.\nStrong HVAC and mechanical systems expertise, ideally within mission-critical or data center environments.\nThe ability to work independently while coordinating the efforts of others on customer sites.\nExcellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.\nA customer-first mindset, with the professionalism and interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls effectively.\n*This is a Bargaining Unit Position.\nPay Range: $40.77 Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.
