We offer the following shifts:\nRotating Day Shift (continental)\nThe Truck Driver will be responsible for the delivery of products to various locations, typically within the City of Edmonton, Sherwood Park and Nisku area. Responsibilities will include the correct loading and securing loads, recording of delivery information, and ensuring overall vehicle safety. The position will be expected to operate the delivery vehicle in a safe manner at all times, obeying all rules of the road, and following all appropriate company policies and procedures.\nOperate and drive automobiles, vans, and light trucks to pick up and deliver various products to support manufacturing needs.\nEnsure and assist in correct loading, securing, and unloading of freight on vehicle or trailer.\nOperate vehicle in a safe manner, obeying all rules of the road.\nComply with all company policies and procedures regarding the delivery of goods.\nRecord information on pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, fuel costs, and any problems encountered.\nCommunicate with central dispatch.\nLoading and unloading products in a safe manner, using provided tools as appropriate (e.g. dollies, lifts, etc.).\nReport customer, mechanical, or delivery problems, vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.\nCheck all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.\nComplete all necessary paperwork and maintain logs of working hours, vehicle service, inspection, delivery receipts, and repair status, following applicable provincial and federal regulations.\nCommunicate effectively with the public, customers, and co-workers both verbally and in written form.\nPerform periodic inspections before, during, and after delivery of load and vehicle to ensure that load is properly fastened down and is secure.\nEnsure that material is properly protected from the outdoor elements.\nDeliver to product and proper paperwork to our customers in a courteous and timely manner.\nEnsure the preventive maintenance (oil changes, etc.) and cleaning of vehicle and trailer are performed at regular intervals.\nAssist in departmental activities when driving is not required.\nPerform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nValid Class 5 Driver's License and Clean Driver’s Abstract.\n Ability to drive a 1-ton vehicle with a 30’ to 40’ trailer and 5-ton box van and safely navigate in and out of loading docks.\nOne year or equivalent commercial truck driving experience.\nAbility to drive a forklift is an asset.\nEligibility for bonding and transportation of dangerous goods (TGD) certification.\nDefensive Driving Course is an asset.\nExceptional organizational abilities with task prioritization, multi-tasking, use of timelines and time management techniques.\nHigh level of personal integrity.\nStrong work ethic.\nProfessional/mature demeanor under stressful situations.\nAbility to work in a fast-paced environment.\nMust be able to work with little supervision; must be self-directed.\nJohnson Controls’ Canadian subsidiaries are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants, candidates and employees with disabilities, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, and in Ontario, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
