Today, our company continues to lead the industry, offering innovative cooling technologies that support the infrastructure of the digital economy.\nPosition Summary\nThe Electrical Apprentice supports the installation, termination and assembly of electrical systems, including conduit, cabling, equipment, panels, sensors and control devices. This role assists with the construction and fabrication of control panels and systems, including the installation of interlocking wiring and participation in wiring verification and checkout activities to ensure proper functionality, under the direction of a certified Journeyperson.\nRoles and Responsibilities\nInstall and terminate conduit, cable, electrical equipment, panels, sensors and control components in compliance with applicable codes and standards.\nAssist with the construction and fabrication of control panels and perform rough-in and finishing wiring for control systems.\nInstall interlocking wiring and assist with wiring verification and checkout in accordance with applicable codes and specifications.\nInstall electrical system components and wiring in compliance with applicable codes and standards, including the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and where applicable, NEC, NESC, NFPA and UFC.\nAssist with the installation, troubleshooting, repair and maintenance of electrical control circuits for motors and control devices.\nSupport the preparation of material take-offs and identification of required electrical equipment and components.\nAssist with lockout/tagout (LOTO) and electrical isolation procedures in accordance with company safety policies.\nSupport the review of facility electrical system plans and specifications and identify opportunities for improvements to operational performance and efficiency.\nAssist with testing installed, repaired or modified equipment to verify proper operation and performance.\nPerform routine cleaning, lubrication and other basic maintenance activities as required.\nMaintain detailed and accurate maintenance reports and documentation in accordance with company procedures.\nMaintain a working knowledge of changes in electrical technologies, codes, compliance requirements and repair techniques.\nMonitor electrical parts and materials usage and report any shortages, discrepancies or material issues to supervision.\nAssist in preparing preventative and predictive maintenance schedules.\nSupport quality control checks and inspection readiness by ensuring work meets drawings, specifications and applicable standards.\nEnsure assigned tasks and project work are completed accurately in alignment with required standards.\nPerform assigned electrical tasks under the direction of a certified Journeyperson or designated supervisor in accordance with apprenticeship requirements.\nPerform all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations and Code.\nOther duties may be assigned as deemed necessary.\nKnowledge, Skills and Abilities\nUnderstanding of electrical fundamentals, including voltage, current, resistance and basic circuitry.\nBasic understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and applicable standards.\nAbility to work in a safety sensitive environment and adhering to safety protocols.\nAwareness of electrical safety practices and hazard recognition.\nDemonstrated commitment to completing technical training and progressing toward Journeyperson certification.\nExposure to electrical installation, maintenance, repair and troubleshooting activities.\nIntroductory ability to read and interpret drawings, schematics and specifications.\nIntroductory knowledge of motor controls, sensors and control circuits.\nAbility to safely use basic electrical hand tools, power tools and test instruments.\nDemonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-pressure production environment while effectively managing multiple competing priorities.\nStrong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong maintaining productivity and accountability with minimal supervision.\nMaintains strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality of work.\nEducation and Work Experience\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nMust be registered as an Apprentice Electrician with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training (AIT) and actively enrolled in an approved trade school program.\nA minimum of 500 hours of electrical experience is required.\nPrevious work experience in an industrial, commercial or manufacturing environment is preferred.\nWorking knowledge of electrical tools, materials and equipment used in manufacturing environments is an asset.\nExperience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.\nWorking Conditions\nRequired to work in a manufacturing environment that may involve exposure to noise, moving machinery, varying temperatures and other production-related hazards.\nRequired to use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent exposure to hazardous materials and excessive noise levels in the workplace.\nMust have the physical ability to lift and carry materials weighing up to 35 lbs.\nMust have the ability to stand for extended periods throughout each shift.\nManual dexterity is required to effectively operate tools and equipment.\nOvertime may be available occasionally based on operational needs.\nContacts\nCommunication is
