As an Electrical Designer Drafter, you'll design, develop, and document industrial control systems utilizing PLCs, embedded computer control platforms, and associated electrical systems. Collaborating closely with engineering, manufacturing, project management, and field teams, you'll transform concepts into high-quality, cost-effective solutions that make a real impact.\nThis position is based onsite at our FRICK manufacturing facility in Waynesboro, PA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate.Only US Citizens and/or Permanent Residents will be considered for this position.\nHow you will do it\nDesign and develop electrical control systems for industrial equipment and automation applications.\nCreate and maintain electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, terminal plans, and bills of material using Autodesk Electrical.\nDevelop PLC and embedded computer hardware documentation for new product designs and customer-specific projects.\nSelect and specify electrical components including PLCs, HMIs, industrial computers, power supplies, circuit protection devices, communication hardware, sensors and instrumentation\nEnsure compliance with applicable electrical codes, standards, and company design practices.\nSupport engineering change requests and update design documentation.\nCoordinate with engineers, production personnel, and suppliers to resolve design and manufacturing issues.\nAssist in panel layout optimization for manufacturability and serviceability.\nGenerate accurate documentation packages for manufacturing, testing, and field installation.\nParticipate in project review meetings and design reviews.\nProvide technical support during system integration, testing, startup, and troubleshooting activities.\nMaintain project schedules and deliver assigned tasks within established deadlines.\nSupport continuous improvement initiatives related to design processes, standards, and documentation practices.\nProvide support for the controls panel shop to clarify specifications and adapt engineering changes if needed.\nWhat you will need \nRequired\nAssociate Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering Technology, or a similar discipline, or 5 years of professional experience in lieu of a degree. \n2+ years of experience in electrical controls design, industrial automation, or related engineering design activities.\nPreferred\nProficiency with Autodesk Electrical.\nUnderstanding of industrial control systems and electrical design principles.\nKnowledge of PLC hardware platforms and industrial control architectures.\nFamiliarity with embedded computer control systems and industrial networking.\nAbility to create and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, panel layouts, control system documentation, and industrial Refrigeration P&ID’s\nKnowledge of industrial communication protocols such as ethernet/IP, Modbus TCP/IP, Profinet, and serial communications\nKnowledge of electrical codes and industry standards including NFPA 70, NFPA 79, and UL508A control panel requirements.\nHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $25.00 - $34.62 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
