end-to-end delivery: roadmap planning, sprint execution, risk management, and dependency management across teams\nGuide architecture and design across Java and .NET services, Kafka-based event streaming, and Angular front ends\nOversee design and operation of Kafka pipelines handling telemetry and events from building devices and controllers (topic design, partitioning, schema management, consumer lag, fault tolerance)\nDrive integration with building automation protocols and systems (e.g., BACnet, Modbus, MQTT, OPC UA) and IoT/edge gateways\nEnsure quality, reliability, and security for systems that interact with physical infrastructure, including alarms, scheduling, and device commissioning workflows\nChampion engineering best practices: code reviews, automated testing, CI/CD, observability, and secure coding\nManage technical debt, modernization, and migrations (e.g., legacy .NET to modern .NET, monolith to microservices)\nWork with global stakeholders and distributed teams, aligning priorities across time zones\nReport on delivery, team health, and engineering metrics to the Senior Engineering Manager and leadership\nWhat We're Looking For\nRequired\n10+ years of total software engineering experience, with 3+ years managing engineers or leading teams\nExperience managing or leading a team of 15-20 engineers, including through leads/managers\nStrong hands-on background in Java (Spring / Spring Boot) and .NET (C#, ASP.NET Core)\nSolid experience with Apache Kafka (event-driven architecture, stream processing, Kafka Connect, Schema Registry)\nWorking knowledge of Angular and modern front-end practices (TypeScript, RxJS)\nExperience designing microservices, REST APIs, and distributed systems\nDomain experience in building management systems (BMS/BAS), building controls, or IoT/industrial automation\nProven record of delivering complex projects with cross-functional and globally distributed teams\nStrong coaching, performance management, and stakeholder communication skills\nNice to have\nKnowledge of building protocols (BACnet, Modbus, LonWorks, MQTT, OPC UA) and HVAC/energy management concepts\nExperience with time-series data,
