In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining electrical systems and facility equipment to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient healthcare environment. You will work closely with hospital staff, contractors, and fellow maintenance professionals to support uninterrupted facility operations.\nHow You Will Do It\nCustomer Service\nRespond to customer inquiries, service requests, and operational needs in a professional, timely, and respectful manner.\nMaintenance & Operations\nPerform predictive, preventive, and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and electrical systems.\nTroubleshoot, repair, and maintain building infrastructure to maximize system uptime and reliability.\nConduct routine inspections, testing, and monitoring of facility systems and equipment.\nCoordinate and perform high-voltage maintenance activities, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.\nComplete generator testing and inspections in compliance with applicable codes and best practices.\nSupport maintenance activities across the hospital, including after-hours and weekend coverage when required.\nRecord maintenance activities, work orders, and resolutions within the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).\nMonitor and report equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions or improvements.\nAssist with facility-related projects, equipment upgrades, and seasonal maintenance activities.\nSafety & Compliance\nFollow all company, hospital, and regulatory safety requirements.\nComply with Occupational Health & Safety, environmental, infection control, and fire protection standards.\nEnsure all work is performed safely and in accordance with established procedures and permits.\nParticipate in emergency response activities and hospital code events as required.\nTeamwork\nCollaborate effectively with hospital staff, contractors, supervisors, and fellow technicians.\nParticipate in departmental training and continuous improvement initiatives.\nMaintain tools and equipment in safe working condition.\nWhat We Look For\nRequired\n Construction and Maintenance Electrician (309A) or Industrial Electrician (442A) license.\nStrong understanding of electrical and mechanical systems within large commercial, institutional, or industrial facilities.\nAbility to work flexible schedules, including on-call, standby, emergency call-outs, weekends, and holidays when required.\nAbility to safely use hand tools and equipment and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to work from ladders, step stools, and at elevated heights.\nAbility to work extended periods on your feet in a fast-paced environment.\nSuccessful completion of required background and security screening.\nPreferred\nMinimum 5 years of facility maintenance experience in healthcare, manufacturing, food processing, higher education, commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities.\nAbility to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and electrical drawings.\nStrong verbal and written English communication skills.\nExperience with Building Automation Systems (BAS); Metasys experience is an asset.\nProficiency using computers, mobile devices, and CMMS platforms.\nStrong customer service orientation and sense of urgency.\nAbility to work effectively in a team-oriented and dynamic environment.\nAbility to maintain confidentiality related to Johnson Controls and customer operations.\nComfortable working at heights.\n* This is a bargaining unit position *\nPay Rate: $36.04 per hour, with an additional $5.00 per hour premium for candidates holding a valid Electrician ticket ,determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
