This role requires strong technical knowledge, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to work independently in the field while maintaining accurate records and high safety standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nConduct routine inspections, testing, service, and preventative maintenance on life safety systems and related product lines.\nWork with low voltage wiring and associated devices used in the operation of low voltage equipment.\nComplete Service Acknowledgements with proper coding through communication devices such as laptop computers or hard copy documentation.\nFollow and maintain a highly structured inspection schedule.\nInput, retrieve, and archive inspection documents using a laptop computer.\nMake minor repairs and programming changes to systems being inspected.\nProvide technical training to less senior inspectors and trainees.\nComplete assigned inspections on time and support other duties as assigned.\nHow You Will Do It\nYou will own each inspection with accountability, safety, and integrity from start to finish.\nYou will stay close to the work, follow the inspection schedule, and remove obstacles that could delay service for customers.\nYou will document work accurately, use the correct coding, and keep inspection records organized and accessible.\nYou will use troubleshooting skills and sound judgment to make minor repairs and appropriate programming changes in the field.\nYou will support continuous improvement by sharing knowledge, training newer inspectors, and learning from each job.\nYou will collaborate respectfully with teammates, customers, and other stakeholders to complete work safely and on time.\nQualifications\nFire alarm license and the ability to obtain and retain any licenses required by National, State, and Local codes.\n3 years of documented service experience in fire alarm or fire sprinkler systems.\nExperience reading and interpreting blueprints, diagrams, submittals, specifications, program schematics, and operational/product manuals.\nExperience using hand tools and a multi-meter.\nDemonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting systems and performing necessary repairs.\nAbility to follow verbal and written instructions.\nAbility to perform physical labor, including carrying and moving equipment and tools up to 50-70 lbs.\nAbility to work in unusual and sometimes difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high lift equipment up to 40 feet, and working within ducts, crawl spaces, and above ceilings.\nAbility to work flexible hours, including weekends, to meet customer requirements.\nAbility to adhere to and always follow safety guidelines and procedures.\nValid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements.\nAbility to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test.\nDemonstrated high level of customer service.\nAbility to work well with others.\nSelf-starter who can work with little to no supervision.\nStrong organizational skills, a positive attitude, and the ability to learn quickly.\nHigh School Diploma or equivalent.\nNice to Have\nNICET certification.\nWhy Join Us\nAt Johnson Controls, you will be part of a team that values safety, technical excellence, and customer service.
