We help customers use energy more productively, reduce carbon emissions, and operate with the precision and resilience required in fast-moving industries.\nRole Overview\nAs a Shop Technician, you will perform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers in a fixed-location shop environment with no travel required. You will help keep equipment ready for use, maintain accurate service records, and support a clean, organized, and safe work area.\nKey Responsibilities\nPerform service and maintenance on fire extinguishers, including recharging, testing, and six- and twelve-year maintenance work.\nAccurately complete reports, inspection tags, paperwork, and maintenance records for extinguisher service activities.\nPerform routine and preventive maintenance on extinguisher shop test equipment.\nMaintain the organization, operation, and cleanliness of the work area.\nUse hand tools safely and complete repetitive production tasks, including lifting, sliding, and general extinguisher handling.\nWear all minimum PPE required by Johnson Controls, as well as specialized PPE when needed for specific work situations.\nMaintain a professional appearance and attitude at work.\nComplete required employment paperwork, such as timecards, in a timely and professional manner.\nParticipate in periodic Johnson Controls business meetings and contribute to the growth and sustainability of the business.\nPerform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.\nHow You Will Do It\nOwn outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrityin every task, record, and interaction.\nFocus on what mattersby staying close to the work, keeping the shop organized, and removing avoidable delays.\nImprove every daythrough careful workmanship, clear communication, and practical problem-solving.\nWin as one teamby collaborating with colleagues, contributing in business meetings, and supporting shared goals.\nQualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent.\nPrevious experience is not required; on-the-job training is provided.\nAbility to operate hand tools and lift and carry up to 50 lbs.\nAbility to perform repetitive motions, including lifting, sliding, and general production work.\nEffective written and verbal communication skills.\nValid driver's license and a clean driving record.\nAbility to pass a required licensing test.\nAbility to pass a drug test, background check, and BMV check.\nComfort working in a shop environment and maintaining accurate records.\nIf this sounds like the right fit for you, we encourage you to apply and build your career with Johnson Controls.\nHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $19-$24 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
