In this role, you will lead the on-site execution of control systems projects, balancing technical delivery, customer satisfaction, and strong commercial results.\nRole Overview\nAs the Controls Project Manager HVAC, you will act as the on-site project leader for assigned customers. You will plan, execute, and complete control systems projects from design and programming through installation coordination, commissioning, and closeout. This role also carries responsibility for project financial performance, customer communication, subcontractor coordination, and warranty execution.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead control systems projects on site and ensure work is completed to scope, schedule, quality, and financial objectives.\nOversee hardware design, system programming, installation coordination, system and network commissioning, and project closeout.\nManage project costs, billings, collections, profitability goals, and cash flow.\nActively pursue change orders and evaluate the impact of client bulletins, field directives, and scheduling changes.\nCoordinate communication with the customer throughout all phases of the project.\nProvide work direction to subcontractors, electrical installers, technicians, designers, and administrative support as needed.\nManage material selection, ordering, vendor pricing, delivery schedules, and subcontractor billing.\nCoordinate panel and field device locations and ensure installation aligns with Johnson Controls literature and project requirements.\nComplete loading, device verification, commissioning, as-built documentation, and final system validation.\nProvide coaching and technical assistance to System Technicians, Electrical Installers, System Designers, and subcontractors.\nDeliver site-specific training to owners and operators and provide manuals and documentation for system operation.\nSupport warranty execution and send warranty communication upon substantial completion.\nMaintain strong relationships with contractors, clients, consultants, and subcontractors while attending job progress meetings as required.\nHow You Will Do It\nYou will own project outcomes by working safely, acting with integrity, and keeping commitments to customers and the business.\nYou will stay close to the work, communicate clearly, and remove obstacles quickly so projects keep moving and customer needs are addressed.\nYou will implement controls and software programming using established standards and provide clear technical information to customers and internal teams.\nYou will look for ways to improve every day, using candor and practical problem-solving to resolve issues and strengthen project execution.\nYou will manage procurement carefully, securing pricing and availability from vendors and subcontractors while protecting scope, cost, and schedule.\nYou will coordinate commissioning thoroughly, resolve issues across disciplines, and verify that the system performs as designed before handover.\nYou will win as one team by collaborating across functions, respecting diverse perspectives, and supporting subcontractors and colleagues toward the same goal.\nYou will maintain accurate documentation, forecasts, and project status updates so management and customers have timely visibility.\nQualifications\nTechnical associate degree with two years of field experience, or four years of equivalent related field experience in the HVAC industry.\nHVAC experience with mechanical systems and DDC.\nRelevant hands-on experience in systems design and commissioning of digital HVAC controls systems.\nAbility to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.\nAbility to perform work independently and manage on-site project activity with limited supervision.\nStrong understanding of control theory and HVAC systems.\nKnowledge of project accounting, costing principles, and contracting.\nNice to Have\nStrong personal computer skills.\nExperience with project management tools such as MS Project or equivalent.\nWhy Join Us\nWe offer a competitive salary, paid vacation/holidays/sick time, and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision care available day one.
