As a trusted advisor to our customers, you will provide solutions and outcomes at the time of service\nHow will you do it\nApprentices will be trained and will perform on HVAC mechanical equipment and controls on client sites. \nApprentices will participate in certified training through Service Technical Academy that will build skill sets to provide continued opportunities for recognition, monetary rewards and advancement.\nThrough coaching and mentorship, apprentices will develop skills to troubleshoot and resolve both technical issues as well as customer needs. \nYou will keep JCI, contractors, and the customer advised of job progress and issues as needed. \nYou will meet attendance requirements for required Union training for first year. \nProvide recommendations and solutions to ensure the facility is running efficiently to include upselling opportunities.\nProvide quotes to support recommendations and solutions.\nWhat we look for\nMust be a member or willing to join the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipe Fitting Industry of the United States and Canada, AFL-CIO. \n1+ years of industry experience or experience in servicing mechanical systems in the HVAC industry.\nGenerally required knowledge includes mechanical HVAC systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques\nEffective interpersonal skills to properly represent Johnson Controls to customers and other outside contacts in an ethical and professional manner.\nLeadership skills to support the activities of Mechanics working on non-complex, non-critical mechanical HVAC equipment on a job site\nSelf-starter with ability to eventually work independently. \nPrioritize safety in all forms.\nThis position requires a valid driver’s license.\nPreferred\n1-2 years of trade school or college in a technical emphasis. \n*This is a Bargaining Unit Position.\nPay Range: Hourly rate determined by the CBA/rate sheet. Benefits are provided through a local labor union aligned with a collective bargaining agreement.\nThis is a Bargaining Unit Position but is subject to all pre-hiring screening of JCI. With successful performance, JCI may recommend you to the Union Local apprenticeship program, as well as continued employment at JCI.
