You will develop the project plan, coordinate internal and external resources, manage scope, schedule, and financial requirements, and help ensure projects are delivered according to plan. The role also includes supporting change management initiatives that improve business workflows across engineering, manufacturing, and related teams.\nKey Responsibilities\nDefine project schedule, scope, goals, resource requirements, and deliverables that support business and customer objectives.\nManage assigned orders through the order execution, engineering, manufacturing, and startup phases.\nDevelop and document the project plan and ensure adherence to project requirements and milestones.\nIdentify and manage risk factors, contract impacts, and special circumstances associated with complex customer orders.\nPlan, schedule, and track project timelines, deliverables, milestones, dependencies, and critical path using appropriate tools.\nAssess the need for additional team members or resources and communicate needs to leadership when project goals are at risk.\nResolve project scope, financial, and schedule impacts related to manufacturing issues.\nAcquire and coordinate core, extended, and support team members, suppliers, contractors, and consultants to keep the project moving.\nBuild and maintain strong business relationships with customers and suppliers that support specially engineered products.\nCoordinate and lead cross-functional project teams to ensure clear and accurate communication throughout the project lifecycle.\nIdentify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.\nConduct project post-mortems and create lessons learned reports to improve future execution.\nDevelop best practices and tools for project execution and management.\nCoach, mentor, motivate, and provide leadership to project team members while encouraging accountability and positive action.\nSupport change management initiatives with engineering, manufacturing, and other Johnson Controls teams to improve workflow and process efficiency.\nHow You Will Do It\nOwn outcomes with accountabilityby keeping commitments, managing risk early, and maintaining a strong focus on safety, integrity, and financial discipline.\nStay close to the workby working directly with engineering, manufacturing, suppliers, and customers to remove obstacles and keep issues from escalating.\nImprove every dayby using lessons learned, candid communication, and practical problem-solving to strengthen project execution.\nWin as one teamby building trust across functions, coordinating diverse perspectives, and keeping communication clear and timely.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering plus one to three years of related work experience.\nPMI/PMP (Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional) certification to be obtained within 2 years of employment in the position.\nDemonstrated verbal and written communication skills.\nAbility to communicate technical material to a non-technical audience.\nStrong personal computer working capabilities in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project), Adobe Writer, Visio, and basic Windows environment.\nNice to Have\nMinimum of five years of direct project management experience in the Building Construction Industry.\nExperience with Mechanical Retrofits, HVAC controls, BAS management, Fire management, and Security management systems.\nHVAC project experience.\nWhy Join Us\nThis role offers the opportunity to work on complex HVAC and chiller projects with visible impact across customers, engineering, manufacturing, and startup teams.
