About the Role

Based in Cairns, this role offers the opportunity to lead the delivery of commercial HVAC projects across Queensland and surrounding regions.

As the HVAC Site Supervisor, you will oversee site installation, commissioning, testing, quality assurance, and project documentation, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and to the highest quality standards.

Working closely with customers, subcontractors, suppliers, and project teams, you will coordinate site activities, drive project outcomes, and provide hands-on leadership throughout project delivery.

This opportunity is ideal for an experienced HVAC Technician, Refrigeration Mechanic, Electrician, Leading Hand, or Site Supervisor looking to progress their career with a market-leading organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate HVAC installation, commissioning, service, and maintenance activities across project sites

  • Manage site labour, subcontractors, and suppliers to achieve project milestones safely and efficiently

  • Monitor site productivity and ensure project schedules and delivery targets are met

  • Conduct site inspections and audits to maintain safety, quality, and compliance standards

  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment, plant, and site resources to support project execution

  • Provide hands-on leadership, mentoring, and technical guidance to site personnel

  • Support commissioning, testing, defect resolution, and project handover activities

  • Ensure all works comply with customer specifications, company procedures, and quality assurance requirements

  • Maintain accurate reporting, project documentation, and site records

  • Identify and proactively resolve technical, operational, and site-related issues

  • Contribute to project performance by balancing customer, commercial, and operational requirements

  • Champion a strong safety culture and lead by example in all site activities

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (HVAC/Refrigeration & Air Conditioning) or Electrical Trade Qualification

  • Minimum 5 years' experience within the commercial HVAC industry, ideally across installation, construction, retrofit, or project delivery environments

  • Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems, construction methodologies, and site-based project delivery

  • Proven ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders, subcontractors, and project activities

  • Strong communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills

  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and building strong client relationships

  • Current Driver's Licence

  • Construction White Card

  • Passion for safety leadership, hazard identification, and continuous improvement

Desirable

  • Previous Site Supervisor, Leading Hand, or Team Leader experience

  • Experience delivering commercial HVAC construction or retrofit projects

  • Exposure to Building Management Systems (BMS) and controls technologies

  • Experience with AutoCAD, BIM, Microsoft Project, or Visio

  • Additional industry certifications including Working at Heights, EWP, First Aid, or similar
