Operates a lift truck to transport and store supplies, material, and product to production assembly areas. Ships and receives supplies, materials, and products. Keep accurate records. The company reserves the right to rotate employees to other departments or work assignments within the organization as needed based upon skill set, production needs, etc.\nHow you will do it\nFollowing verbal instructions and using own independent judgment, transports supplies and finished materials with a lift truck by visually checking load or weight counting.\nRecord data on material completion, CNS removal, or transfer tickets with the use of a scanner or other means. Verifies the correct counts and part numbers.\nLoads and unloads trucks and rail cars by hand or with a forklift. Verifies count, type and condition of material received from fabrication or trucking firms.\nReports type and quantity of damaged material received for items shipped directly to assembly area. Notates damage on receiving slips for material control and completes a shortage / damage report.\nReceives in-coming materials, parts and supplies from outside vendors. Must verify quantity on packing slip. Uses bar code scanner and printer to properly receive, identify and distribute to appropriate storage location. Must be knowledgeable of the safety procedures for handling hazardous substances such as acids and caustics.\nMoves scrap from production or assembly areas to storage location with lift truck. Maintains inventory records of scrap. Verifies counts or weigh counts material.\nIssues parts and supplies from cribs as needed and fills out proper forms. Visually counts or weigh counts material.\nOrders inventory for production areas when needed from warehouse.\nOperates a truck for transporting material and products between warehouse and other locations when necessary. Unloads flat bed and boxcars.\nPerforms minor maintenance on trucks and performs maintenance and safety checks on forklifts and fills out record sheets. When necessary, fills LP gas tanks.\nConducts daily inventories to assure proper materials are available to support production requirements.\nAssist in annual inventory in warehouses and other factory locations.\nMaintains housekeeping and orderliness in assigned areas and performs and completes the 5’s assignments.\nWorks with supervisor to determine the most efficient method of material storage.\nMust know the proper methods in loading and unloading semi-trailers and vans to minimize damage.\nSupporting the training and development of peers within the organization.\nPerforms other related duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.\nQUALIFICATIONS\nMust be 18 years of age and have a HS Diploma or equivalent. A Tyco forklift/over-the-road driver’s license is required. Significant knowledge of the material movement transactions in the sap system is required. Reads bills of lading, packing lists and bills of material are required. Judgment is used to store parts to determine correct or optimal locations for parts, correct stack height of parts. Production priorities for line are self-determined by material handler. Instrumental in time, space, and action planning in order to anticipate production needs. Input to management regarding system improvements or operating methods improvements. HazMat Training and Certification (within 6 months)\nENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY OBLIGATIONS\nComply with the following Environmental, Health and Safety duties as a condition of employment:\nComply with safety rules\nAttend and Participate in Safety Training\nParticipate actively in the safety process\nAsk questions if something isn’t known\nReport all accidents and injuries immediately\nSubmit suggestions to improve safety\nKnow responsibilities in the event of an emergency (i.e., what to do in the event of an alarm for fire, chemical spills, tornados, etc.)\nBe a coach to others who are acting unsafely\nMust have Lock-out tags after 6 months\nAttend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.\nAbility to recognize chemical hazardous labels.\nSpill management and clean-up.\nAir shutoff locations.\nCapability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.\nProficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.\n HIRING HOURLY RANGE: Training pay $23.57, certified pay $24.82\n(Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
