You will be responsible for managing the team that fulfills production orders, receives and ships material, and transacts in the ERP system.\nHow you will do it\nLead a team of staff in the materials department to accomplish business objectives and collaborate with internal stakeholders to drive continuous improvement.\nUtilize available data to proactively identify issues related to inventory, its accuracy, and the overall operation; utilizing problem-solving tools and Lean Principles to improve decision-making and escalate problems to the leadership team.\nManage employee scheduling, including shifts, breaks, and vacations, to ensure adequate staffing levels.\nMonitor and review employee performance, providing coaching, feedback, and recognition.\nHire and train new employees, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary knowledge and skills to perform their roles effectively.\nCollaborate closely with engineering, purchasing, and production departments to optimize material specifications, streamline processes, and resolve any issues related to material availability or quality.\nUtilize inventory management software (SAP) and data analysis techniques to optimize inventory levels and forecast future requirements.\nExecute on corporate objectives and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nWhat we look for\nRequired:\nMinimum of 6 years of inventory, warehousing, and logistics experience in a similar environment\nMinimum of 2 years of supervisory and people management experience\nExperience handling or leading in a Lean manufacturing environment where heavy machinery is used.\nStrong knowledge of data analysis, inventory management software (SAP - preferred), and forecasting techniques\nPossess an analytical mindset with a strong attention to detail, coupled with outstanding organizational and problem-solving skills\nExcellent communication and leadership abilities\nAbility to work outdoors & in inclement weather\nAbility to work weekends & overtime if needed\nPreferred:\nBachelor's Degree or diploma in a related field\nIn-depth understanding and attention to detail regarding Bill of Materials (BOM) information, including the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues arising from incomplete or conflicting data\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with multiple departments, provide comprehensive explanations\nExceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and track open items to completion\nExtensive knowledge and experience in Manufacturing Operations, MRP/ERP systems, and Inventory Management, including implementing best practices\nAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, and data analysis tools to manipulate and interpret complex data sets\nHIRING SALARY RANGE: $79,000 - $112,000 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
