Click this link to learn more about our JADEC facility!\nPotential to earn class credit\nWhat you will do\nAs a member of the Johnson Controls Mechanical Engineering Co-Op/Intern will be responsible for various engineering activities within the compressor engineering department. Reporting to the engineering manager, interfaces directly with compressor engineers, aero engineers, technicians, test lab, and other departments within the company as needed. Role will primarily be focused on large centrifugal compressors for York brand water cooled chillers.\nHow you will do it:\nThe intern will follow compressor testing, organize and analyze test data, and create reports\nTake direction from manager and engineers, provide guidance to test operators and interface with compressor technicians. Understand and follow all relative safety procedures and utilize appropriate personal protective equipment\nCreate and execute test plans\nEdit and maintain work guidelines and instructions for future interns to follow\nAssist in various assigned projects within the compressor engineering function as necessary\nAt the conclusion of the internship, a brief presentation to the compressor engineering department summarizing your activities and key learnings will be required\nMust be able to work 40 hours a week at our JADEC office in New Freedom, PA\nWhat we look for\nRequired Qualifications:\nCurrently enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university\nPursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or Electro-Mechanical Engineering\nDemonstrated knowledge in the area of Mechanical Engineering\nHands-on mechanical aptitude desirable\nFamiliarity with machine design\nSolid knowledge of thermodynamics\nU.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.\nPreferred Qualifications:\nPossess strong problem solving skills and be detail oriented\nExcellent communication and organizational skills\nAbility to work within a team environment\nFlexibility to work on multiple projects and coordinate priorities\nProficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook\nHIRING HOURLY RANGE: $22.00 - $25.50 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
