Become a member of the Johnson Controls family and thrive in an empowering company culture where your voice and ideas will be heard - your next great opportunity is just a few clicks away!\nWhat we offer\nCompetitive Pay \nComprehensive Benefits Package including Retirement Savings Plan, Extended Health Care, Dental, and Vision \nPaid holidays, paid vacation days, and paid sick time \nCareer Advancement Opportunities across Business Units and Geographies \nEncouraging and collaborative team environment \nDedication to safety through our Zero Harm policy \nThis is a weekend night shift position\nWhat you will do\nYou will be responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of production and operation workers (approximately 50-75 employees), such as assemblers, inspectors, precision workers, machine operators, fabricators, and plant and system operators while ensuring that production schedules are created and completed on time, safely, and within budget.\nHow you will do it\nDirect the manufacturing workforce to achieve production goals.\nEnforce safety and sanitation regulations.\nAnticipate production obstacles and manage team and stakeholders to overcome them.\nProvide leadership and ownership of product quality while consulting with Quality staff and Engineers on quality issue while being accountable for the overall QA performance of the manufacturing unit.\nConfer with management or subordinates to resolve worker problems, complaints, and production issues.\nProvide motivation for employees, increasing morale, worker efficiency, and production rates.\nProcess and approve hourly timesheets and correct exceptions in a timely manner.\nMonitor and assess employee’s performance, attendance, scheduling etc.\nEnsure that work orders are completed in a timely fashion and within budget.\nEnsure safety is a priority with all workers, oversee strict adherence to Alberta and Canadian Occupational Health and Safety guidelines, attend JHSA meetings as needed.\nWork with other supervisors to coordinate operations and activities within and between departments\nDemonstrate equipment operations and work and safety procedures to new employees or assign employees to experienced workers for training.\nRead and analyze charts, work orders, production schedules and other records / reports to determine production requirements and to evaluate current production estimates and outputs and take action to meet schedule deadlines.\nRead and review of manufacturing engineering packages and provide improvement feedback.\nPerforms all duties in accordance with Johnson Controls/Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.\nOther duties as required.\nWhat we look for\nRequired:\n3+ years’ experience as a production supervisor\nDirect working knowledge of operations, warehouse, and transportation management\nJourneyman welder certificate preferred\nKnowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering, as well as inventory control of these items\nKnowledge of local and federal regulations including AOHS and Employment Standards Code\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong written and verbal skills to communicate with all levels of the organization and its executive team\nStrong customer service orientation\nExperience with all safe practices, procedures, and overall processes associated with manufacturing from raw materials to finished product\nAbility to maintain a high level of communication with both internal and external stakeholders, customers, contractors, and industry peers\nAlways adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment)\nPreferred:\nTrades school/ticket and/or University degree or diploma in related field\nTraining and knowledge of Six Sigma techniques, Kaizen, and Lean Manufacturing\nFirst Aid skills and/or certificates\nHIRING SALARY RANGE: $71,000-96,000 CAD (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
