You will drive quality performance throughout manufacturing operations, support issue resolution, and promote a culture of quality across the organization.\n How You Will Do It\n\nLead, coach, develop, and support Quality Inspectors and Quality Leads.\nEnsure Quality Inspectors and Quality Leads are properly trained, qualified, and provided ongoing coaching and development opportunities.\nManage daily quality operations, staffing assignments, coverage plans, and departmental priorities.\nEnsure product inspections are completed in accordance with approved procedures, specifications, and acceptance criteria.\nLead nonconformance identification, containment, escalation, and resolution activities while coordinating cross-functional support as required.\nPartner with Manufacturing, Engineering, Product Management, Purchasing, and Operations to resolve quality concerns.\nMonitor quality trends, defect data, Internal DPU performance, and recurring issues to identify opportunities for improvement.\nSupport implementation of quality gates, inspection plans, standardized work instructions, and process controls.\nEnsure corrective actions are completed effectively and verified for sustained improvement.\nValidate the effectiveness of corrective and preventive actions through Process Audits, Layered Process Audits (LPAs), data analysis, and follow-up verification activities.\nFacilitate communication between shifts and maintain visibility of quality-related issues.\nSupport customer audits, internal audits, and quality investigations.\nPromote compliance with company policies, customer requirements, and quality management system requirements.\nSupport new product introductions and manufacturing process changes.\nEnsure all work is performed in accordance with company safety standards and regulatory requirements.\nTrack and report quality performance metrics, including Internal DPU, defects, nonconformances, escapes, rework, inspection effectiveness, audit findings, and quality gate performance.\nLead daily review of Internal DPU trends by production line, value stream, product family, and manufacturing tier to prioritize improvement actions.\nCoordinate with Purchasing and suppliers to support containment activities, incoming quality concerns, supplier corrective actions, and material quality improvement initiatives.\nMaintain ownership of manufacturing quality gate execution and ensure inspection requirements are consistently applied across operations.\nPerform other duties as required.\nWhat We Look For\n\n5+ years of quality or manufacturing experience.\nPrevious leadership or supervisory experience.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality controls.\nExperience with nonconformance management, root cause analysis, and corrective action processes.\nStrong communication and conflict resolution skills.\nAbility to lead cross-functional teams.\nWorking knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement principles.\nProficiency with Microsoft Office and quality reporting systems.\nKey Areas of Ownership\n\nQuality Inspectors & Leads\nProduct Quality\nManufacturing Quality\nIncoming, In-Process & Final Inspection\nNonconformance Management\nContainment & Escalations\nQuality Gates\nCorrective Actions\nContinuous Improvement\nQuality Performance Metrics\nJohnson Controls International plc. is an equal employment opportunity and affirmative action employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, age, protected veteran status, genetic information, sexual orientation, gender identity, status as a qualified individual with a disability or any other characteristic protected by law.
