This role focuses on the design, development, testing, and certification of fire protection products for our Restaurant Suppression product portfolio. Responsibilities include development of mechanical hardware including concept generation, detailed design, prototyping, and design verification testing, regulatory approval testing, and launch support.\nThis is an on-site position based in Marinette, WI (not remote) and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship. Candidates must be commuting distance to the facility, or able to relocate. Various relocation packages are available.\nHow you will do it\nWork with a team of passionate engineers, program managers, product line managers and other professionals to create world class life safety products.\nAnalyze high level market requirements to establish design direction.\nPrepare design concept diagrams, detailed drawings, and specifications.\nAnalyze designs for feasibility, cost optimization, vibration tolerance, mechanical stress, fluid flow, heat transfer, and other parameters.\nDirect and coordinate prototype efforts.\nPlan and execute test programs; analyze test data to optimize designs.\nMaintain a working knowledge of manufacturing methods; design products for manufacturing efficiency.\nMaintain knowledge of industry technology trends.\nMaintain knowledge of regulatory requirements and test standards.\nPrepare and present reports and presentations.\nWhat we look for\nRequired\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university.\n1+ years of experience in mechanical engineering, mechanical product development, or a related technical discipline.\nAble to apply fundamental engineering theories, mathematics, mechanics, and physical science concepts to the job.\nAbility to write reports and convey detailed technical information.\nUS Citizen and/or Permanent Resident\nPreferred\nFamiliarity with DFMEA (design failure mode and effect analysis) and DFAM (design for assembly and manufacturing)\nExperience with phase-gate design processes\nAbility for occasional travel\nProficiency of MSOffice, PTC Creo and Windchill\nSALARY RANGE: $70,000 - $90,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
