This role supports moderately complex projects with medium to high corporate priority and focuses on keeping schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer expectations aligned from start to finish.\nRole Overview\nAs a Security Project Manager, you will lead project delivery across installation and closeout, providing subject matter expertise in project management, scope definition, risk identification, prioritization, and facilitation. You will coordinate project resources, manage vendor relationships when needed, and ensure projects are completed on time and within scope while maintaining a strong customer focus.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead moderately complex security projects with medium to high corporate priority.\nSet up local project offices, define project scope, and support project methodology and execution planning.\nIdentify risks, prioritize work, and coordinate resources to keep projects moving forward.\nMaintain control of schedule, cost, safety, quality, and customer satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.\nPresent project updates, cycle status, and expected results to management and customers.\nManage vendor relationships throughout installation when required.\nTrack project expenditures and installation progress, adjusting plans and schedules as needed.\nMaintain financial accountability and support project forecasting using internal Johnson Controls accounting practices and AIA standards.\nConduct worksite inspections and help ensure workmanship meets Johnson Controls quality expectations.\nRespond to customer concerns in a timely, professional manner and support effective issue resolution.\nClose projects on time and in scope, with complete documentation and clear communication.\nHow You Will Do It\nUse PMI project management practices to guide integration, scope, time, cost, quality, human resources, communications, risk, and procurement.\nOwn project outcomes with accountability, safety, and integrity from kickoff through closeout.\nStay close to the work, keep project staff and customers informed, and remove obstacles before they affect delivery.\nTrack financial trends early, manage expenditure reviews carefully, and translate project performance into accurate forecasts.\nInspect workmanship and progress regularly so quality issues are addressed quickly and projects stay aligned with expectations.\nCollaborate across the team, vendors, and customer contacts with candor, trust, and a practical problem-solving mindset.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree, associate degree, or equivalent work experience of at least five years.\n5 years of project management experience in the security industry or new construction experience.\nAbility to travel as needed, including daily and some overnight travel, up to 25%+ depending on open projects.\nStrong communication, coordination, and problem-resolution skills.\nAbility to manage project scope, schedule, cost, quality, and customer expectations.\nExperience working with project financial tracking and status reporting.\nNice to Have\nCSPM (Certified Security Project Manager).\nPMI PMP (Project Management Institute, Project Management Professional).\nAbility to acquire certification within 6 months of employment in the position.\nWhy Join Us\nWe offer a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and development, including competitive salary, 15 days of vacation in your first year, paid holidays and sick time, and comprehensive medical, dental, vision, and 401K coverage available from day one.
