Mechanical Design Engineer\nSilent Aire\nWhat you will do\nThis is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to provide technical leadership for custom Air Handling Unit (AHU), Data Centre Cooling, CRAH, Fan Wall, and CDU.\nThe successful candidate will act as the primary technical interface between customers and the engineering organisation, working closely with clients to define requirements, develop innovative solutions, and drive projects from concept through prototype validation and product release.\nThe role requires a highly experienced engineer capable of translating complex customer requirements into practical and manufacturable product solutions.\nThe Senior Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for leading technical discussions, reviewing and approving designs, supporting Prototype validation and mentoring mechanical engineers.\nHow you will do it\nParticipate in strategic product development initiatives and technology roadmaps.\nAct as the technical lead for the development of new products and customer-specific solutions\nInterface directly with customers to understand, challenge, clarify, and define technical requirements.\nEnsure compliance with project specifications, applicable standards, and company design practices.\nLead customer-facing technical meetings and workshops throughout project development.\nTranslate customer requirements into clear engineering designs.\nDevelop innovative and practical HVAC solutions while balancing performance, manufacturability, cost, and schedule.\nDrive projects from concept stage through detailed engineering, prototype validation, and production release.\nLead technical feasibility assessments and risk reviews.\nPerform coil selections and fan/pump selections using approved selection software and methodologies.\nPrepare and review technical submittals, compliance documents, and customer reports.\nSupport prototype testing, validation, and performance verification activities.\nWork closely with manufacturing, quality, sourcing, controls, and project management teams to ensure successful project execution.\nResolve technical issues arising during design, manufacturing, testing, and field operation.\nReview and approve Bid Submittals completed by junior and intermediate engineers prior to customer submission (AHU, CRAH, CDU, etc…)\nProvide technical guidance and mentorship to the mechanical engineering team.\nSupport customer presentations, technical proposals, and bid reviews.\nProvide engineering sign-off for critical design deliverables where required.\nWhat we look for\nBachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.\n10+ years in HVAC mechanical design engineering\nExtensive knowledge of Air Handling Unit (AHU) design and HVAC industry standards and codes is preferred\nProven track record of leading complex customer-driven engineering projects.\nDemonstrated experience acting as a technical consultant and trusted advisor to customers.\nExperience managing projects from concept through prototype validation and production handover.\nStrong understanding of manufacturing considerations and product lifecycle management.\nExperience supporting Data Centre cooling equipment/applications preferred.\nExperience with chilled water and refrigerant pipework design would be a significant advantage\nExcellent verbal and written communication skills.\nStrong leadership and mentoring capabilities.\nAbility to work independently and influence multidisciplinary teams.\nCustomer-focused mindset with excellent relationship-building skills.\nAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced engineering
