You will develop executive social strategies, write in each leader’s authentic voice, and manage the planning, review, publishing, engagement and measurement system.\nWorking closely with Executive Communications, Investor Relations, Legal, Brand, Talent Acquisition and executive offices, you will turn company priorities and leadership perspectives into credible content while protecting disclosure, legal, security and reputational standards. Success means leaders are visible, trusted and consistent, supported by a disciplined operating model that minimizes executive time and delivers measurable impact.\nHow you will do it\nExecutive Social Strategy\nBuild and maintain social strategies for the CEO, CFO, CHRO and other senior leaders, aligned with company priorities, the enterprise narrative, each leader’s role, audiences and voice.\nServe as a trusted adviser to executives and chiefs of staff, providing clear recommendations while maintaining a light, predictable working cadence.\nExecutive Voice & Content\nWrite posts, articles, comments and short-form video scripts in distinct executive voices.\nInterview leaders to capture authentic perspectives while balancing company promotion with meaningful personal insight.\nTranslate company news, business results, customer milestones and leadership viewpoints into timely, credible and engaging social content.\nEditorial Planning & Publishing\nOwn a unified editorial calendar across executives, aligned with earnings, major events, customer milestones, corporate news and enterprise priorities.\nManage scheduling, publishing, account administration, agency or freelance support, and coordination with company channels and employee advocacy programs.\nDisclosure, Compliance & Issues Management\nManage the review and approval path with Legal, Investor Relations and the Disclosure Committee, protecting material nonpublic information and observing quiet periods and blackout windows.\nMonitor conversations involving company leaders and Johnson Controls, escalate emerging issues, prepare approved holding statements and coordinate executive social responses with Corporate Communications.\nEngagement, Measurement & Optimization\nManage comments and community engagement within agreed guidelines and coordinate organic or approved paid amplification.\nDefine and report measures including reach, engagement, follower growth, sentiment, share of voice and contribution to employer brand and talent attraction.\nUse performance insights to continually improve content, timing and executive social strategies.\nAccount Security & Continuity\nMaintain secure account access, multi-factor authentication and delegated permissions.\nDocument executive voice guides, workflows and records, and maintain trained backup coverage to support continuity.\nWhat we look for\nRequired\nBachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field, or equivalent experience.\n6+ years of experience in social media, executive communications, corporate communications, journalism or a related field, including experience writing for senior executives.\nExceptional writing and editing skills, with demonstrated ability to write authentically in different leaders’ voices.\nPlease submit a portfolio, PDF samples or links that demonstrate your experience creating social media content and thought leadership for senior executives.\nWorking knowledge of disclosure and compliance considerations for public-company executives, including Regulation FD, quiet periods and material nonpublic information.\nHands-on command of social media management, analytics and listening tools such as Sprout Social, Hootsuite and LinkedIn analytics.\nAbility to handle sensitive information with discretion, exercise sound judgment and operate calmly in fast-moving or high-visibility situations.\nDemonstrated strength in executive partnership, business storytelling, data-informed decision-making, editorial planning and disciplined execution.\nStrong cross-functional collaboration skills and sound disclosure and reputational judgment.\nPreferred\nExperience managing social media for a C-suite leader at a large, global public company.\nBackground in B2B, industrial, technology or building-technology sectors.\nExperience with issues and crisis communications, LinkedIn thought leadership, employee advocacy and paid amplification.\nFluency with AI-enabled drafting and workflow tools, supported by strong human review, governance and authenticity safeguards.\nExperience with content creation and design tools, including Adobe Creative Suite applications such as Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign, or similar platforms.\nWork Arrangement\nThis role may be considered for a hybrid or remote work arrangement for the right candidate, based on business needs and candidate location.\nWhat success looks like\nExecutive social strategies, voice guides and approval paths are established for priority leaders and agreed with Legal and Investor Relations.\nOne editorial calendar and a consistent weekly cadence operate across executive offices, enabling reliable publishing with minimal demands on executive time.\nA measurement baseline and quarterly reporting demonstrate progress in reach, engagement, sentiment and share of voice.\nQuiet periods, blackout windows and account-security standards are consistently observed, with zero disclosure or compliance incidents.\nA documented, secure and repeatable system, including crisis protocols and trained backup coverage, supports continuity and expansion to additional leaders.\nSALARY RANGE: $135,000 - $150,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
