We are now looking for a Specification & Solutions Manager - Fire Detection to strengthen our early-stage specification and business development capability across Austria and Switzerland.\nSpecification & Solutions Manager - Fire Detection\nAustria or Switzerland\nWhat you will do\nAre you a fire detection expert who enjoys getting involved before the solution has already been decided?\nWe are strengthening our specification and early-stage business development capability across Austria and Switzerland and are looking for someone who can combine technical credibility with a genuine business development mindset.\nThis is not a traditional territory sales role with an established customer base to manage. You will identify, create and shape opportunities, working with consultants, designers, planners, end users and contractors to influence fire detection solutions and specifications at an early stage.\nYou will:\nBuild relationships with consultants, designers, planners, engineers, end users and contractors across Austria and Switzerland.\nIdentify new projects and opportunities before product and supplier decisions are finalised.\nUnderstand technical requirements, applicable standards and customer needs and help translate them into effective fire detection solutions.\nInfluence specifications and solution choices around our FireClass and ZETTLER portfolio.\nWork closely with our product, engineering, design-support and sales specialists.\nDevelop a structured pipeline of short-, medium- and longer-term opportunities.\nIdentify projects that can generate revenue in the current year while building a sustainable future pipeline.\nQualify opportunities and collaborate with our sales organisation to support successful conversion.\nBring market insight about customer needs, competitor activity and developing project opportunities.\nWhat we look for\nWe are looking for someone with strong fire detection knowledge and technical credibility, combined with the curiosity and commercial drive to create new opportunities.\nYou bring:\nStrong experience within fire detection or a closely related technical environment.\nExperience in specification, project development, technical business development or consultative solution sales.\nExperience engaging with consultants, designers, planners, contractors and/or end users.\nThe ability to confidently discuss technical requirements and influence specification and solution decisions.\nA proactive approach to identifying and developing new opportunities.\nStrong relationship-building and stakeholder-management skills.\nThe ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with sales, engineering and product teams.\nFluent German and strong professional English.\nWillingness to travel regularly across Austria and Switzerland.\nA valid driving licence and appropriate right to work.\nWhat we offer\nYou will have the opportunity to help strengthen Johnson Controls' early-stage fire detection specification capability in Austria and Switzerland, rather than simply taking over an existing sales territory.\nYou will work with established FireClass and ZETTLER solutions while having access to our wider fire and building technology capabilities.\nWe are also investing in the tools and resources needed to support specification-led growth, including design support, specification tools, product resources, technical training and a broader European business development structure.\nThis is an opportunity for someone who wants to create the pipeline, influence projects early and turn technical expertise into real business opportunities.\nWhat success looks like\nSuccess means getting Johnson Controls involved earlier in the project lifecycle.\nYou will help us build stronger relationships with key project influencers, identify opportunities earlier, increase our involvement in design and specification discussions and create a visible pipeline of qualified opportunities that can be successfully converted together with our sales organisation.\nIf you know fire detection, understand how specifications are influenced and enjoy creating opportunities rather than simply inheriting them, we'd like to hear from you.\nBring your technical expertise.
