In this role, you will lead the design, development, and deployment of scalable software solutions that enable analytics, data-driven decision-making, and AI-powered capabilities across the organization.\nAs a Senior Software Engineer, you will serve as a technical leader, partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software applications, data integrations, and cloud-based solutions. You will drive technical excellence, mentor other engineers, and help shape the architecture of enterprise platforms that support strategic business initiatives.\nHow You Will Do It\nSoftware Development & Architecture\nDesign, develop, test, and deploy scalable software applications and services.\nLead architecture and design discussions for enterprise-level solutions.\nDevelop secure, maintainable, and performant APIs and backend services.\nEnsure adherence to software engineering best practices, including testing, code reviews, and version control.\nTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in production environments.\nCloud & Data Solutions\nBuild and maintain integrations across cloud platforms, enterprise applications, and data sources.\nCollaborate with data engineers and data scientists to support analytics and AI initiatives.\nDevelop and optimize data processing workflows and application integrations.\nContribute to cloud-native solutions using Azure or comparable cloud platform stakeholders, and technical teams to translate requirements into software solutions.\nProvide technical mentorship and guidance to junior engineers.\nParticipate in technical planning, estimation, and roadmap discussions.\nDrive continuous improvement through process optimization and engineering best practices.\nInnovation & Continuous Improvement\nEvaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements to existing systems.\nSupport AI, analytics, and automation initiatives through robust software engineering solutions.\nChampion code quality, maintainability, and scalability across the development lifecycle.\nQualifications & Experience\nBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.\n5+ years of professional software engineering experience.\nProven experience designing, building, and maintaining enterprise software applications.\nExperience working in Agile development environments.\nDemonstrated ability to lead technical projects and collaborate across teams.\nTechnical Expertise\nStrong proficiency in Python, C#, Java, or comparable programming languages.\nExperience developing REST APIs and microservices.\nKnowledge of cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.\nExperience with SQL and relational databases.\nFamiliarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, testing frameworks, and DevOps practices.\nExperience with enterprise data platforms such as Snowflake or similar technologies.\nUnderstanding of software architecture, design patterns, and scalable system design.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience supporting machine learning or AI-enabled applications.\nExperience with Azure services and Microsoft technology stack.\nKnowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.\nExperience with data engineering, analytics platforms, or enterprise integrations.\nFamiliarity with IoT, smart buildings, or industrial technology environments.\nSoft Skills\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills.\nExcellent problem-solving and analytical thinking abilities.\nAbility to work independently and lead through influence.\nStrong collaboration and mentoring capabilities.\nAdditional Information\nWork Location & Arrangement: Glendale, WI (Hybrid)\nSponsorship: Johnson Controls will not sponsor applicants for work visas or provide immigration-related employment sponsorship for this position, now or in the future.\nHIRING SALARY RANGE: $90,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
