Your expertise in process engineering, advanced coatings, manufacturing optimization, and data analysis will be crucial in improving coating performance, product quality, production throughput, and operational efficiency.\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here:\nEmployee Well-being: Focus on employee health and well-being with various wellness programs and initiatives.\nSustainability Commitment: Work for a company committed to sustainability and making a positive impact on the environment.\nInclusive Workplace: An inclusive and diverse workplace where all employees are valued and respected.\nTechnological Leadership: Be part of a company that is a leader in its field, driving technological advancements.\nWork-Life Balance: Flexible working hours and policies that support a healthy work-life balance.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing:\nDevelop, optimize, and sustain processes related to the Atmospheric Plasma Spray line\nProvide daily technical support to Production, Maintenance, and Quality for APS operations and related fuel cell processes\nEstablish, document, and maintain process parameters and work instructions for APS, deburring, grit blasting, and inspection operations\nPlan, coordinate, and execute trials and experiments to improve coating performance, yield, throughput, and cost\nAnalyze experimental and production data and provide data-driven recommendations\nSupport Advanced Product Quality Planning activities for fuel cell and automotive products\nParticipate in internal and external design and process reviews, providing technical input on manufacturability, coating design, and process capability\nSupport the manufacture, inspection, and approval of prototype and preproduction components\nLead and support root cause investigations and corrective and preventive actions for process and product issues\nConduct capacity analyses and implement improvements focused on scrap reduction, cycle-time reduction, productivity, and waste elimination\nDevelop test methods and inspection criteria for coating thickness, adhesion, surface condition, and other critical characteristics\nEnsure appropriate gauges and measurement systems are selected and used effectively\nTrain operators, technicians, and other team members on APS processes, equipment operation, work instructions, and new procedures\nSupport equipment troubleshooting and maintenance activities in collaboration with Maintenance and Engineering\nProvide process engineering support to other powder metal automotive components and manufacturing processes as required\nEnsure compliance with Johnson Electric’s Quality Management System, EHS policies, IATF 16949, and ISO 14001 requirements\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nWhat We’re Looking For:\nBachelor’s degree or technical diploma in Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline\nAt least one year of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment\nStrong hands-on aptitude and willingness to spend significant time on the production floor working with equipment and operators\nAbility to work with process equipment and interpret technical drawings and specifications\nStrong understanding of fundamental engineering principles and their application to manufacturing problems\nStrong data-analysis skills, including the ability to design experiments, interpret results, and make data-driven decisions\nWorking knowledge of continuous improvement tools, including 5S, root cause analysis, PDCA, and basic Lean concepts\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint\nStrong communication, collaboration, documentation, and problem-solving skills\nBonus Points If You Have:\nExperience with thermal spray processes such as plasma spray or HVOF\nExperience with fuel cell components, advanced coatings, or powder metallurgy\nExperience in automotive or advanced manufacturing environments\nExposure to Six Sigma or similar process improvement methodologies\nExperience using AutoCAD or other CAD software\nExperience supporting APQP, prototypes, preproduction builds, or new product launches\nFamiliarity with manufacturing and quality software systems\nHow to Apply\nApply online at www.johnsonelectric.com.
