Your expertise in laboratory testing, powder metallurgy, heat-treatment processes, material properties, and dimensional analysis will be essential to ensuring product quality, supporting production, and advancing new product, material, and process development.\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here\nRecognition Programs: Programs that recognize and reward employee achievements and contributions.\nCommunity Engagement: Opportunities to participate in community service and corporate social responsibility initiatives.\nStrong Leadership: Work under experienced and visionary leaders who guide the company towards success.\nInnovation Hubs: Access to state-of-the-art facilities and innovation hubs that foster creativity and development.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nPerform metallurgical, sediment, and dimensional analyses on production components\nEvaluate test results against specifications and quality requirements\nInitiate containment and corrective action procedures when products do not meet specifications\nSupport line-side problem-solving and resolution of material or process concerns\nParticipate in CQI-9 Heat Treatment System Assessment activities\nMaintain accurate testing records, archived reports, and retained test samples\nCalibrate laboratory equipment and production gauges according to required frequencies\nMaintain laboratory equipment in safe and reliable operating condition\nDevelop and execute preventive maintenance activities for laboratory equipment and production gauges\nVerify thermal operations by monitoring and testing process variables\nSupport sintering, tempering, induction, and steam-treatment processes\nMonitor and maintain powder-property databases to verify material quality before release to production\nProvide technical support to Production and Thermal Operations teams\nMaintain laboratory organization through 5S and Lean Manufacturing principles\nParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives involving quality, testing, equipment, and processes\nFollow all applicable Quality, Safety, Environmental, and company requirements\nPerform other related duties as assigned\nWhat We’re Looking For\nA combination of at least five years of education and experience in laboratory testing, powder metallurgy, heat treatment, or related manufacturing processes\nPostsecondary education in Metallurgy, Materials Science, Manufacturing Technology, or a related discipline preferred\nKnowledge of metallurgical testing, material properties, and manufacturing processes\nFamiliarity with analytical chemistry, statistics, and measurement fundamentals\nUnderstanding of laboratory and process automation\nKnowledge of production metallurgy and heat-treatment operations\nAbility to prepare, cut, grind, polish, and evaluate metallurgical samples\nProficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access\nStrong documentation, analytical, and problem-solving skills\nEffective customer service and interpersonal skills\nStrong written and verbal communication abilities\nHigh integrity, dependability, urgency, and results orientation\nAbility to stand and walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment with limited climate control\nBonus Points If You Have\nThree years of postsecondary education in Metallurgy or Materials Science\nPowder Metallurgy Technologist Level 1 certification or active progress toward certification\nExperience with powder-metal manufacturing processes\nExperience supporting sintering, tempering, induction, or steam-treatment operations\nKnowledge of CQI-9 Heat Treatment System Assessment requirements\nExperience calibrating laboratory equipment and production gauges\nExperience developing preventive maintenance plans for laboratory or measurement equipment\nFamiliarity with IATF 16949 containment and corrective action requirements\nHow to Apply\nApply online at www.johnsonelectric.com.
