The role provides technical expertise, supports operational reliability, mentors junior tradespersons, and ensures work is completed safely and in compliance with all applicable standards and procedures. The Millwright reports to the Maintenance Supervisor.\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here\nA strong culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement\nOpportunities to develop hands-on technical skills in a modern manufacturing environment\nA supportive team environment with training and apprenticeship mentorship opportunities\nCompetitive compensation, benefits, and long-term career growth\nA values-driven culture that empowers employees to contribute to meaningful operational performance\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nPerform advanced repairs and troubleshooting requiring a thorough knowledge of pumps, valves, electric, hydraulic and pneumatic actuators, motors, gearboxes, mechanical drives, speed reducers, conveyors, presses, and related equipment.\nAnalyze complex mechanical failures, diagnose root causes, and recommend appropriate repair or replacement solutions.\nInstall, dismantle, align, inspect, test, and commission stationary industrial machinery and equipment.\nInterpret operating and maintenance (O&M) manuals, schematic diagrams, drawings, prints, and layouts; recommend revisions or improvements where required.\nPerform precision mechanical work including alignment, rigging, welding, pipefitting, fabrication, and equipment modifications as required.\nRespond to emergency equipment failures, identify required resources, and complete repairs or coordinate work with contractors.\nOrganize, coordinate, and oversee external contractors performing maintenance or repair work, including inspection of completed work to ensure compliance with company standards and industry best practices.\nProvide support to capital projects, special projects, equipment installations, start-up, and commissioning activities.\nUtilize the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS/EAM) to record work performed, update work orders, procure parts, and maintain equipment history.\nAssist in the training, mentoring, and development of apprentices and lower-level millwrights.\nMaintain effective working relationships with colleagues, supervisors, contractors, and other stakeholders through collaboration and communication.\nEnsure all work complies with applicable safety standards, codes, quality requirements, and environmental regulations.\nAdhere to company policies and procedures, including Quality and Environmental Management Systems (IATF 16949, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, where applicable).\nPerform other related duties as assigned.\nWhat We’re Looking For\nREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS\nSecondary School Diploma or equivalent.\nMinimum one (1) year of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS\nValid Certificate of Qualification or ticket as an Industrial Mechanic Millwright (Red Seal or equivalent).\nFive (5) or more years of experience as a Millwright in a manufacturing environment.\nIn lieu of a Millwright Certificate or ticket, candidates with five (5) or more years of relevant hands-on industrial maintenance experience will be considered.\nEXPERIENCE:\n1 to 5 years of post-qualification industrial maintenance experience.\nDemonstrated experience troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing industrial machinery and mechanical systems in a manufacturing or industrial environment.\nTECHNICAL & SKILL REQUIREMENTS\nStrong knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, gear drives, and rotating equipment.\nAbility to interpret equipment manufacturers’ drawings, schematics, and O&M manuals for installation, maintenance, and repair activities.\nWorking knowledge of CMMS/EAM systems and Microsoft Office applications is an asset.\nThorough understanding of safety requirements as mandated under the Occupational Health & Safety Act.\nStrong mechanical aptitude, problem-solving, and analytical skills.\nAbility to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.\nEffective communication and mentorship skills.\nWORK ENVIRONMENT (INCLUDING PHYSICAL DEMANDS)\nIndustrial manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, machinery, heights, confined spaces, poor lighting, temperature extremes, materials, and by-products.\nRequired to climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; crouch, kneel, push, pull, lift, carry, and turn while handling tools, materials, and equipment.\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work for extended periods.\nOperation of material-handling equipment such as cranes, chain hoists, and lift trucks.\nWillingness to work overtime, emergency call-ins, shutdowns, and scheduled shift rotations as required.\nHow to Apply: Apply online at www.johnsonelectric.com - We look forward to meeting you!\nWhat We Offer\nJohnson Electric offers talented people like you the opportunity to grow professionally and personally, surrounded by some of the most dedicated, innovative, and entrepreneurial colleagues you will find anywhere.
