The successful candidate will be responsible for managing tooling projects, driving continuous improvement, ensuring quality and efficiency in mold assembly and injection molding processes, and leading cross-functional problem-solving efforts. This role requires deep technical expertise in plastic molds, and basic knowledges of progressive dies, die casting dies, and transfer dies, as well as strong leadership and English communication capabilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nTeam Leadership & Management\nLead, mentor, and manage the mold assembly team and molding team to achieve operational KPIs including safety, quality, delivery, and cost targets.\nFoster a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and technical excellence within the team.\nConduct performance reviews, talent development, and succession planning for key technical roles.\nCoordinate manpower allocation across mold assembly and molding operations to meet production schedules.\nTechnical & Tooling Management\nOversee the assembly, maintenance, and trial of plastic molds, progressive dies, die cast dies, and transfer dies.\nReview tooling designs and assembly plans to ensure manufacturability, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.\nLead tooling trials (T0/T1/T2), validation processes, and provide technical direction on mold modifications and improvements.\nEstablish and maintain tooling standards, documentation systems, and preventive maintenance programs.\nWork closely with mold design and manufacturing teams to resolve complex tooling issues.\nMolding Operations\nOversee daily molding operations, ensuring stable production output, optimal cycle times, and consistent part quality.\nDrive process optimization in injection molding parameters, material handling, and machine utilization.\nMonitor and improve mold life, downtime reduction, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).\nEnsure proper implementation of process documentation, standard operating procedures, and work instructions.\nProblem Analysis & Continuous Improvement\nLead structured problem-solving activities using tools such as 5-Why analysis, Fishbone, and root cause analysis.\nInvestigate and resolve complex quality, tooling, and process issues in a timely manner.\nChampion continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma) across the operations.\nCollaborate with quality, engineering, and manufacturing teams to reduce scrap, rework, and customer complaints.\nCross-functional Collaboration\nAct as the key technical interface between operations, quality, product engineering, and customers regarding tooling and molding matters.\nParticipate in new product development (NPD) and design-for-manufacturability (DFM) reviews.\nSupport quotation and cost estimation activities related to tooling and molding.\nCommunicate technical status, project updates, and critical issues to senior management.\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor's degree or above in Mechanical Engineering, Mold & Die Design, Materials Engineering, Polymer Processing, or a related discipline.\nExperience\nMinimum of 10 years of experience in mold tooling and injection molding, with at least 5 years in a leadership/managerial capacity.\nHands-on experience with plastic injection molds, progressive dies, die cast dies, and transfer die tooling structures, assembly, and trials.\nProven track record of managing mold assembly teams and molding operations in a manufacturing environment.\nExperience with mold trial processes, tooling validation, and process qualification (e.g., FAIR, PPAP) is highly preferred.\nTechnical Skills\nIn-depth knowledge of mold structure, machining, assembly processes, and tooling materials.\nFamiliarity with molding machine technologies, auxiliary equipment, and automation is a plus.\nStrong understanding of GD&T, drafting standards, and tooling tolerance analysis.\nFamiliarity with ISO quality systems (ISO 9001, IATF 16949) and safety standards.\nProblem Analysis\nStrong analytical and structured problem-solving abilities with hands-on experience in root cause analysis and corrective action implementation.\nAbility to lead cross-functional troubleshooting sessions and drive issues to closure.\nLanguage & Communication\n Fluent in English (written and spoken) required for daily communication with global stakeholders, customers, and internal teams.\nExcellent presentation, reporting, and documentation skills in English.\nProficiency in Mandarin/Cantonese is an advantage for local operations.\nPersonal Competencies\nStrong leadership, decision-making, and conflict-resolution skills.\nAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced production environment.\nDetail-oriented, proactive, and hands-on in shop floor management.\nStrong project management and organizational capabilities.\nWorking Conditions\nPrimarily based in the plant/production environment with regular shop floor presence.\nMay require occasional travel for oversea regional plants or inter-company support.\nWork schedule may include flexibility to support shift operations or urgent production requirements. .\nCome join our global, inclusive & diverse team\nOur purpose is to improve the quality of life of everyone we touch through our innovative motion systems.
