Working closely with the Strategic Support Lead, cross-functional commercial teams, and regional/global partners, this role will focus on partnership scouting, market and technology assessment, and transaction support across medical device, healthcare technology, and adjacent innovation areas.\nThis role is an execution-focused position that plays a critical part in translating DPS China growth priorities into actionable business development initiatives.\nKey Responsibilities\nBusiness Development & Opportunity Scouting\nIdentify and analyze new external business opportunities, including partnerships, licensing, and early-stage acquisition targets aligned with DPS China strategy\n\nConduct market, competitive, and technology landscape analyses to support opportunity prioritization\n\nTrack emerging trends in medical devices, healthcare technology, and digital health within China\n\nStrategy & Analytical Support\nSupport the development of inorganic growth strategies for DPS China in collaboration with Strategic Support, commercial teams, and regional/global stakeholders\n\nBuild and maintain market, financial, and valuation models to assess business potential and risks\n\nPrepare clear, structured analyses and recommendations for internal review\n\nDeal Execution & Cross-Functional Coordination\nSupport cross-functional deal teams (Commercial, Marketing, R&D, Finance, Legal, Regulatory) throughout evaluation and execution phases\n\nAssist with due diligence activities, including data gathering, analysis, and coordination with internal and external parties\n\nHelp prepare investment memos, presentations, and management materials for leadership review\n\nStakeholder Management & Communication\nPrepare high-quality presentations and written materials in English and Mandarin for internal stakeholders\n\nMaintain effective working relationships with internal teams and selected external partners\n\nEnsure all activities align with company governance, compliance requirements, and regulations\n\nQualifications\nEducation\nBachelor’s degree in healthcare, Science, Engineering, Business, or related fields from a reputable university\n\nAdvanced degree (MBA, Master’s) or professional training is a plus\n\nExperience\nExperience in business development, strategy, consulting, venture, or commercial roles within healthcare, medical devices, or life sciences\n\nSolid understanding of medical device or healthcare technology ecosystems in China\n\nDemonstrated ability to perform market analysis, financial modeling, and business case development\n\nStrong attention to detail, structured thinking, and high ownership of assigned workstreams\n\nProven ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across functions\n\nClear and confident communication skills (written and verbal) in English and Mandarin\n\nProficiency in PowerPoint and Excel\n\nJohnson & Johnson announced plans to separate our Orthopaedics business to establish a standalone orthopaedics company, operating as DePuy Synthes. The process of the planned separation is anticipated to be completed within 18 to 24 months, subject to legal requirements, including consultation with works councils and other employee representative bodies, as may be required, regulatory approvals and other customary conditions and approvals.
