Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech.\nThe Lead Contracts Specialist is responsible for supporting the drafting, negotiation and finalizing of certain standard contracts for Johnson & Johnson MedTech Surgery’s non-commercial operations. This position will report to the Group Leader, Surgery. The ideal candidate has experience drafting and negotiating a variety of contracts and working within a contract lifecycle management system. As a valued partner to the business, the Lead Contracts Specialist requires effective communication skills with both internal and external clients.\nKey Responsibilities:\n· Drafts and reviews standard legal documents under the supervision of the Group Leader - Surgery Contract Management. The duties of this position will also include, at times, drafting, reviewing and redlining standard low-complexity agreements as well as statements of work, providing contract guidance, mentoring and training to J&J MedTech Surgery associates, identifying and escalating complex legal and factual issues to attorneys and/or the Group Leader, and assisting in resolving the same.\n· Work closely with i) other J&J MedTech legal team members; ii) other members of the Johnson & Johnson Global Legal Organization; and iii) from time to time subject matter experts within J&J MedTech Surgery and other J&J MedTech franchises.\n· Identify contract terms that vary from company standards to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance, recommend appropriate modifications, and engage and collaborate with internal stakeholders.\n· Assist in developing and updating templates for such agreements to reflect current laws, industry codes, and company policies and objectives.\n· Be responsible for the maintenance of the contracts database, and monitor contract compliance to ensure that, at a minimum, J&J MedTech Surgery obligations are met.\n· Pursue and maintain current knowledge of company business and technology.\n· Organize and maintain databases and files in contract lifecycle management system.\n· Address ad-hoc requests & projects.\nQualifications:\n· Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required, paralegal certificate, JD or contract management certification a bonus\n· Minimum of at least 3 years’ experience managing, reviewing, revising and negotiating agreements, as well as previous experience working with technology agreements and large corporate clients or in-house in a large corporate legal department.\n· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal language, including identifying and mitigating risk/exposure points, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.\n· Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Microsoft Teams.\n· Strong organizational and prioritization skills to independently manage multiple tasks and timelines simultaneously, with minimal supervision.\n· Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.\n· Ability to work flexibly in a dynamic environment.\n· Receptive to constructive feedback and collaborates and works well in team environment.\n· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal language, including identifying and mitigating risk/exposure points, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.\nStrongly preferred:\n· Fluency with a Contract Lifecycle Management system preferred.\n· Experience using contract lifecycle management, request portals and workflow tools to track, route, and store agreements.\n· Experience drafting and negotiating SAAS and technology support agreements.\n· Emerging fluency with approved artificial intelligence (AI) tools.\n· Demonstrated ability to read and interpret legal language, including identifying and mitigating risk/exposure points, the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and efficiently, strong negotiation and interpersonal skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with others at all levels of the organization.\nIf you are under 18 years of age, you (the candidate) may need to obtain the necessary working papers or other documentation required by state law to start the assignment, as well as get a parent’s consent for the background check.\nJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
