Teams need reusable intelligence that connects data to decisions, makes assumptions and trade-offs visible, and can be consumed by both people and AI-enabled solutions.\nThe Senior Manager, Decision Scientist will define and operationalize analytical enrichment, decision context and business logic within Global Development data products. The role will not develop AI/ML models. Instead, it will translate business needs into reusable intelligence requirements, work with AI & Data Science when models are needed, and partner with JJT (IT) to bring approved intelligence capabilities into secure, scalable production use.\nKey Responsibilities\nDecision and Business Problem Framing\nWork directly with Global Development leaders and subject-matter experts to clarify the decision, its context, users, timing and desired outcome.\nTranslate business questions into reusable intelligence requirements, metrics, decision rules, assumptions, constraints and acceptance criteria.\nIdentify where trusted metrics can answer the question and where model-based capabilities from AI & Data Science are needed.\nAnalytical Enrichment\nDefine reusable descriptive, predictive and prescriptive intelligence capabilities for inclusion in GD data products.\nSpecify how validated analytical or model outputs should be integrated, governed, explained and consumed.\nDefine quality thresholds, decision fitness and monitoring requirements for intelligence capabilities.\nTurn recurring requests into reusable data-product capabilities.\nDecision Intelligence and Knowledge\nMap decision processes, dependencies, assumptions, constraints and trade-offs with business experts.\nPartner with Data Products to represent and govern decision knowledge consistently.\nCreate reusable frameworks that support cross-study learning and transparent decisions.\nAgent Enablement\nDefine the business context, decision logic, test scenarios and human-review requirements for AI assistants and agents.\nPartner with AI & Data Science on methods and JJT (IT) on production implementation.\nPartnership with JJT (IT)\nEngage JJT (IT) early to align reuse, architecture, security and operational requirements.\nProvide intelligence specifications, business rules, quality standards, test cases and acceptance criteria.\nSupport build, testing and release, while JJT (IT) leads production engineering, deployment and operations.\nEvaluate decision fitness in production and recommend improvements.\nValue, Adoption and Reuse\nDefine and track reuse, adoption, decision quality and business impact.\nPartner with Program & Product Management and the GD business to drive adoption and prioritisation.\nMaintain reusable specifications and frameworks, and communicate them clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.\nQualifications\nEducation and Experience\nBachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant data, technology or life-sciences discipline; PhD welcome.\n6+ years’ relevant experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology R&D, clinical development, analytics, decision science or data products.\nExperience translating business questions into metrics, analytical requirements and decision-support capabilities in cross-functional, regulated environments.\nSkills and Expertise\nKnowledge of Global Development processes and decisions across study planning and execution.\nStrong analytical reasoning and ability to distinguish business logic and decision frameworks from model development.\nWorking knowledge of AI/ML outputs and GenAI or agentic use cases.\nFamiliarity with data products, semantics, knowledge graphs, ontologies, provenance or AI-ready data is preferred.\nStrong cross-functional partnership, stakeholder management, facilitation and communication skills.\nImpact\nBy turning recurring Global Development questions into reusable intelligence, this role will improve decision consistency and transparency, reduce duplication and extend the value of AI-ready data products.\nRequired Skills:\nPreferred Skills:\nAdvanced Analytics, Budget Management, Compliance Management, Critical Thinking, Cross-Functional Collaboration, Data Analysis, Data Privacy Standards, Data Quality, Data Reporting, Data Savvy, Data Science, Data Visualization, Developing Others, Digital Fluency, Inclusive Leadership, Leadership, Strategic Thinking, Team ManagementThe anticipated base pay range for this position is:\n€75,000.00 - €129,260.00Benefits:\nIn addition to base pay, we offer the following benefits*: an annual bonus with set target (% of pay) depending on pay grade / location, where the actual amount is based on the employees’ and companies’ performance of the previous calendar year, or sales commissions.
