Learn more at https://www.jnj.com/medtech\nPosition Summary:\nThe Senior Metrology Engineer will combine expertise in computer vision and metrology to lead the development and integration of inspection systems for automated medical-device manufacturing. As the technical project leader, this role will define system requirements, guide technology selection and development, manage technical risk, and coordinate cross-functional teams and suppliers.\nKey Responsibilities:\nLead engineering teams to achieve project and technology objectives while managing technical risks and presenting status, decisions, and issues to senior leadership.\nCollaborate with experts to translate product, process, and quality requirements into measurable inspection and system requirements.\nLead technology evaluation, selection, and development through hardware evaluation, feasibility testing, bench testing, configuration optimization, inline installation, and system acceptance.\nPartner with external suppliers and system integrators to develop technical solutions. Define and review technical scopes of work and ensure solutions meet project requirements.\nWork with internal partners to establish preventive-maintenance, calibration, spare-parts, backup, training, and support plans to sustain the system after launch.\nEstablish risk-based test strategies, including feasibility studies, design verification, factory and site acceptance testing.\nServe as the subject matter expert during audits, reviews, transfers, and technical decisions.\nMentor and guide early in career engineers without formal authority.\nRequired Qualifications\nBachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related discipline and typically at least four years of relevant experience (or Master’s with 2 years, or a recent PhD graduate).\nDemonstrated project leadership and machine vision engineering.\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience in medical devices or another regulated manufacturing environment.\nDirect experience implementing industrial computer vision hardware, including camera, lens, illumination, triggering, and image acquisition software.\nFlawless Project Execution (FPX) certification or equivalent project management certification.\nExperience applying measurement system analysis (MSA) and statistical techniques to characterize inspection performance, such as design of experiments (DoE), repeatability and reproducibility, bias, and robustness.\nExperience leading capital projects through procurement, installation, commissioning, validation, production ramp-up, and handoff to operations.\nKnowledge of equipment qualification and computerized system validation (CSV).\nLimited domestic and/or international travel may be required based on business needs.\nJohnson & Johnson is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
