You will also play a key role in defining our current, transition, and future-state architectures as we evolve from Azure Data Lake and Synapse toward Microsoft Fabric and OneLake, while integrating new enterprise platforms including Dynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse.\nThis is not an ivory-tower architecture role. We are looking for someone who has built and implemented solutions, earned broader architecture responsibility, and can translate architectural direction into practical guidance for experienced engineering and technology teams.\nJob Description:\nEstablish and mature EIM architecture principles, standards, reference patterns, and lightweight governance.\nDevelop and maintain meaningful current-state, transition-state, and future-state architecture.\nCreate a practical architecture library covering key standards, patterns, decisions, and reference architectures.\nProvide architectural direction as our data ecosystem evolves from Azure Data Lake and Synapse toward Microsoft Fabric, OneLake, and Fabric Data Warehouse.\nHelp define how Dynamics 365 F&O, Dataverse, Fabric, enterprise applications, integrations, and analytical platforms work together.\nGuide architecture across data ingestion, storage, transformation, modeling, analytics, metadata, lineage, cataloging, and governance.\nProvide architectural guidance for our developing Master Data Management and Data Quality capabilities, including technology evaluation and implementation.\nEstablish and promote data modeling standards and reusable patterns.\nPartner with Data Engineers and other technology teams to translate architecture into implementable designs, review significant solutions, and resolve difficult technical problems.\nMentor experienced engineers and help strengthen architectural and engineering practices across the team.\nIdentify opportunities to simplify the technology landscape, encourage reuse, and reduce unnecessary complexity and technical debt.\nSkills and Experience:\nDemonstrated progression from hands-on solution development and implementation into architecture and technical leadership.\nStrong experience designing enterprise data platforms, data warehouses, lakehouses, or similar large-scale data solutions.\nDeep understanding of data architecture and modeling, including dimensional, relational, and enterprise/domain-oriented approaches.\nStrong architecture experience within the Microsoft and Azure data ecosystem.\nExperience translating business needs into information, application, and technology architectures.\nAbility to define practical current-state, transition-state, and future-state architectures.\nWorking knowledge of modern integration architecture, APIs, pipelines, orchestration, and system-to-system data movement.\nUnderstanding of enterprise data management disciplines including governance, metadata, lineage, data quality, master data, and reference data.\nStrong systems thinking and architectural judgment, including balancing scalability, security, performance, maintainability, cost, and delivery realities.\nAbility to influence technical decisions, mentor experienced engineers, and build consensus across teams.\nAbility to communicate architecture effectively with audiences ranging from engineers to Directors and VPs.\nComfort operating in an environment where both the architecture practice and technology landscape are evolving.\nPreferred Skills and Experience:\nMicrosoft Fabric, OneLake, Fabric Data Warehouse, or Lakehouse.\nDynamics 365 F&O and Dataverse architecture.\nMDM or Data Quality platform implementation.\nMetadata, catalog, lineage, or data governance technologies.\nEnterprise integration or EDI/B2B architecture.\nEnd-to-end analytics architecture, including semantic and Power BI consumption layers.\nArchitecture or data-management frameworks such as TOGAF or DAMA/DMBOK.\nCloud cost optimization or FinOps practices.\nTechnology/vendor evaluation and selection.\nTechnical team or formal people leadership.\nAdditional Job Description\nThe expected pay range for this role is $99,000- $168,000. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role. Actual placement within range will be contingent upon several factors, including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, education, experience, internal equity, union status (where applicable) and alignment with market data.
