In this role, you will lead a truck-based service business that supports customer satisfaction, operational excellence, and profitable growth across the assigned territory.\nRole Overview\nUnder general direction, the HVAC Truck Based Service Manager manages the service team, service assets, and execution of the truck-based business. The role is responsible for growing labor and material business, delivering customer satisfaction plans, and supporting revenue, gross margin, and service asset management. Success in this role comes from strong leadership, disciplined business planning, and a consistent focus on team development and customer outcomes.\nKey Responsibilities\nLead the execution of the truck-based service business and maintain consistent delivery systems across the territory.\nManage branch service business plans, financial plans, revenue forecasts, and gross margin performance.\nDrive profitable growth through effective management of people, financial resources, and material assets.\nDevelop strategic operating plans that align with service sales and account goals.\nBuild and retain customer relationships through networking in the local business, governmental, and professional community.\nReview proposals, estimates, and account assignments with Sales to support accurate and effective service execution.\nAudit service operations, support contractual obligations, and take action to improve customer satisfaction and performance.\nRecruit, hire, coach, and retain service support staff while supporting performance reviews and development plans.\nHow You Will Do It\nLead with accountability, safety, and integrity so the team knows what success looks like and how to deliver it.\nStay close to the work by reviewing operations, proposals, and financial results regularly, then remove obstacles that slow the team or affect the customer.\nUse monthly one-on-ones, operational reviews, and clear performance expectations to build a culture of coaching, candor, and continuous improvement.\nWork as one team with Sales, matrix partners, and field leaders to balance account ownership, resource needs, and customer commitments.\nApply standardized tools, systems, and service processes consistently so execution is reliable, measurable, and cost effective.\nMake decisions based on service performance, pricing, gross margin, and customer feedback, then adjust quickly when results need to improve.\nQualifications\nBachelor’s degree in engineering or business, or equivalent work experience.\nEight to ten or more years of progressively more responsible operations management experience in the service industry.\nFive or more years of direct management experience.\nExperience in HVAC, building controls, or a similar service delivery environment.\nHigh-level competence in written and verbal communication.\nStrong presentation skills and the ability to speak to large audiences.\nAbility to lead and direct diverse teams.\nBasic financial and accounting knowledge.\nProficiency in Microsoft Office applications and a Windows-based environment.\nAbility to travel up to 50% of the time.\nNice to Have\nPrevious sales or account management experience.\nIndustry networking experience within local business, technical, or community organizations.\nTechnical school training or a diploma in electronic or mechanical systems.\nFive or more years in a service management role directing a similar service team.\nWhy Join Us\nWe offer a competitive salary, paid vacation, holidays, and sick time, with 15 days of vacation in the first year.
