Silent-Aire is a technology driven company that designs, engineers and manufactures hyperscale cooling and modular data center solutions.\nThis role is located at our facility in Nisku and you must have a reliable transportation to commute.\nThis role will be offered to work Rotating Day Shift: 6:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with weekend coverage included as part of the rotation.\nThe Plumbing Apprentice will assist the Journeyperson Plumber(s) in installation, maintenance, and repairs associated with plumbing and heating requirements for a large manufacturing environment.\nRoles & Responsibilities\nExcellent facilitation, investigation, and problem-solving skills.\n\nSets priorities on work assignments and has ability to meet established deadlines.\n\nAble to braze/solder copper pipe.\n\nAble to work with PVC pipe.\n\nExperience with hand and power tools.\n\nParticipate in proper clean-ups to ensure an efficient and safe work environment.\n\nMaintains a working knowledge of changes in technology, compliance, and repair techniques.\n\nPerforms all duties in accordance with Silent-Aire Limited Partnership safety program standards and Alberta Occupational Health and Safety Act, Regulations, and Code.\n\nOther duties as required.\n\nKnowledge, Skills, & Abilities\nRegistered as a Plumbing Apprentice in Alberta and enrolled in a recognized trade school.\n\nAbility to work under the supervision of Journeyperson plumbers, as part of a team, and independently in a busy environment.\n\nExperience with routine electrical maintenance operations is an asset.\n\nHighly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment.\n\nAble to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.\n\nAble to work well under pressure.\n\nStrong attention to detail.\n\nAble to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times.\n\nWorking Conditions\n24/7 availability may be required.\n\nPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs.\n\nTravel to off-site locations may be required.\n\nAlways adhere to safety policies (wear protective equipment).\n\nOvertime as required.\n\nHazards associated with the trade.\n\nWork both indoors and outdoors, may be exposed to construction sites.\n\nContacts\nCommunication is primarily internal to the assigned work team and Production Supervisor.\n\nJohnson Controls’ Canadian subsidiaries are committed to providing reasonable accommodation to applicants, candidates and employees with disabilities, in accordance with applicable human rights legislation, and in Ontario, in accordance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (“AODA”).
