In this role, you will be responsible for designing analog and digital electronic hardware for new fire alarm products while also supporting existing product lines.\nProjects may include embedded system design, small-signal and instrumentation circuitry, switch-mode power supplies, front-panel user interfaces, audio amplifiers, peer-to-peer networking, linear power supplies, sensors and detectors, and fiber-optic technologies. You will also research and evaluate emerging technologies for potential use in future product development.\nThis position is based in Westford, MA and requires onsite presence three days per week.\nHow You Will Do It\nDesign and analyze analog and digital electronics, including embedded systems.\n\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams to conceive, develop, and release new products into production.\n\nAssume overall technical project leadership for hardware product development, ensuring compliance with product specifications, schedules, cost targets, and performance requirements.\n\nWork in a collaborative team environment to develop innovative solutions that meet product needs.\n\nLead cross-functional teams of engineers, primarily electrical and mechanical, with responsibility for project cost, schedule, and design execution.\n\nOperate effectively at both the component and system levels, including hardware design, software integration, packaging, and system architecture.\n\nIdentify opportunities to improve internal processes and engineering procedures.\n\nPartner closely with Product Management to define and refine product requirements.\n\nDesign products to meet applicable regulatory and agency certifications, including UL, ULC, CE, and FCC standards.\n\nWhat You Will Need\nBachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.\n\n12+ years of experience in electronics design involving analog, power, audio, or embedded systems.\n\nStrong knowledge of discrete electronic components and component-level circuit design.\n\nExperience with electronic CAD tools, including schematic capture and circuit simulation.\n\nAbility to collaborate effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment.\n\nExperience transitioning products from development into manufacturing.\n\nExperience & Skills\n12+ years of relevant engineering experience.\n\nDemonstrated technical leadership experience, including mentoring or leading engineering teams.\n\nStrong engineering and problem-solving capabilities.\n\nExcellent written and verbal communication skills in English.\n\nExceptional organizational and project management skills.\n\nProficiency with Microsoft Office applications, particularly Microsoft Excel.\n\nPreferred Qualifications\nExperience with power supply design, microprocessors, and embedded systems.\n\nExperience with small-signal analog circuit design.\n\nSALARY RANGE: $117,700 - $196,500 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
