Johnstone is growing, and so can you.\nResponsibilities\nThe IT Business Analyst facilitates the activities and works closely with appropriate stakeholders in the development, implementation and maintenance of on-going enterprise-wide programs with a primary focus on ecommerce applications to support the business in achieving strategic goals while achieving operational excellence.\nThis position provides ongoing client support for technical system questions and problems; serves as subject matter expert for designated systems; analyzes and researches more complex system problems, coordinating with vendors and other parties as necessary, and tracks them to resolution.\nUser Administration and Support\nProvides ongoing client support for technical system questions and problems; serves as subject matter expert for designated systems; analyzes and researches more complex system problems, coordinating with vendors and other parties as necessary, and tracks them to resolution; develops, documents, and communicates alternative workarounds for system defects until system solutions can be implemented. \nProvides level 3 application support services for one or more applications, including on-call support where required.\nAssists in developing user documentation and departmental policies and procedures that impact the use of application systems. \nQuality Assurance\nPerforms routine audits of systems and software to ensure highest level of performance and capabilities. Identifies problems and recommends solutions.\nFacilitate and contribute to test planning and QA processes.\nAssists with developing test plans and test design specs and test cases to match business requirements. Thoroughly test software to ensure proper operation.\nSystem Requirements Definition\nConducts interviews and facilitate requirements gathering, process analysis and application design sessions with project stakeholders including internal IT partners and business partners.\nPerforms and documents analysis of existing business rules, processes, and systems to recommend process and system enhancements to improve business performance and maximize the effectiveness of available technology.\nManages understanding of Johnstone’s business models, data relationships, and systems interfaces to determine requirements, assist with troubleshooting and provide application support.\nServes as a liaison and collaborates with internal users, external software providers, and the IT technical staff.\nFacilitates and supports the design, development, implementation and sharing of system requirements best \nAssists with application development to meet business requirements by analyzing business needs, testing, debugging and documenting programs and systems in alignment with department standards and practices.\nProject Leadership\nCreate and manage project deliverables for small to medium size projects.\nLeads small projects (or assists on larger projects) to ensure applications meet user requirements by gathering information from users; developing technical requirements; and working with users to negotiate technical solutions against business requirements.\nPartners with business and IT teams to determine estimates on resources and timing to meet business needs and communicates to appropriate stakeholders.\nIdentify technical considerations in project planning, including risk mitigation, task identification, estimating, task dependencies and resource identification.\nShares lessons learned to identify and to implement future department improvements at IT department meetings.\nBusiness Knowledge\nDevelops basic industry related HVAC repair and replace industry; basic knowledge of co-operative.\nDevelops basic business acumen with emphasis on wholesale and distribution concepts.\nDevelops business knowledge overall Johnstone Supply business as a whole; business model.\nDevelops business process knowledge in two or more targeted areas.\nThis position has a traditional in office or onsite schedule Monday - Friday\nQualifications\nEducation and/or Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nTechnical Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:\nBachelor’s Degree (B.S.) from a four-year college or university; at least five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.\nFamiliarity with IT project management skills is desired: defining objectives, creating timelines, scheduling and planning project resources, documenting processes, monitoring and evaluating project status.\nAbility to use the Internet, e-mail, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.\nKnowledge of SQL is preferrable.\nAbility to coordinate users & technical staff across multiple departments/locations as well as coordination of 3rd party project responsibilities.\nUnderstanding and involvement in Johnstone’s business needs and strategic goals. \nAbility to diagnose and solve problems.
