What This Job Involves

At JLL, we are collectively shaping a brighter way - for our clients, ourselves and our fellow employees. As an Owner's Representative Associate Project Manager specializing in healthcare facilities, you'll serve as the essential connector between clinical stakeholders, design teams, facility management, construction contractors, and regulatory authorities. Your focus will be assisting your project team to ensure healthcare construction and renovation projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining patient safety and operational continuity in active medical environments.

You'll be a part of a JLL team acting as the client's trusted advocate throughout the project lifecycle, from pre-construction planning through closeout and occupancy. This position plays a pivotal role in accelerating delivery timelines, ensuring compliance with healthcare-specific regulations, and elevating the overall client experience. We believe the most effective teams are built when everyone is empowered to thrive, and in this role, you'll drive cross-functional teams to work together more efficiently through proactive coordination, clear communication, and relentless attention to the unique complexities of healthcare construction.

What Your Day-to-Day Will Look Like

Project Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the central liaison between hospital administrators, clinical departments, facility management, architects/engineers, contractors, infection control professionals, and regulatory agencies to coordinate seamless project delivery from planning through closeout
  • Build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with medical staff, facilities teams, and executive leadership, serving as their trusted advocate throughout all project phases
  • Coordinate with infection control professionals to ensure compliance with ICRA (Infection Control Risk Assessment) protocols and interim life safety measures in occupied healthcare facilities
  • Facilitate design reviews with clinical end-users to ensure spaces meet functional, operational, and patient care requirements

Project Controls & Documentation

  • Maintain accurate project data within project management systems, ensuring schedules, budgets, milestone dates, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and status updates remain current through regular reviews
  • Monitor and track the progress of design approvals, regulatory permits, healthcare facility licenses, and required certifications, maintaining visibility of pending decisions and approval timelines
  • Prepare comprehensive project reports, dashboards, meeting minutes, agendas, and executive summaries to support recurring client governance meetings and stakeholder communications
  • Ensure all project documentation complies with Joint Commission standards, FGI Guidelines, and state healthcare facility licensing requirements

Construction Oversight & Quality Management

  • Assist with reviews of construction drawings and specifications to ensure strict compliance with healthcare codes, infection control requirements, and client operational needs
  • Inspect construction work quality and progress, with particular attention to medical gas systems, critical MEP infrastructure, and patient safety measures
  • Coordinate utility shutdowns and construction phasing plans to minimize disruption to active clinical operations and patient care delivery
  • Oversee contractor performance, ensuring adherence to healthcare-specific safety protocols and construction standards in occupied medical facilities

Budget & Schedule Management

  • Support development and management of project budgets, including contingency planning for healthcare-related complexities
  • Monitor project schedules and critical path activities, identifying potential delays that may impact clinical operations or patient care milestones
  • Review and analyze cost estimates, change orders, and payment applications, tracking expenditures against approved budgets
  • Escalate blockers, delays, and missing dependencies that may impact project timing, driving accountability across teams to ensure milestones and deliverables are met

Process Improvement & Risk Management

  • Identify potential risks specific to healthcare environments and support mitigation strategies around patient safety, infection control, and operational continuity
  • Ensure compliance with safety protocols on healthcare construction sites, with meticulous attention to patient protection in occupied facilities
  • Support medical equipment planning, coordination, and commissioning processes to ensure clinical readiness at project completion

Required Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, Project Management, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in construction project management, project coordination, PMO operations, or owner's representation within complex organizational environments
  • Demonstrated understanding of construction processes, contract administration, and project delivery methods
  • Strong knowledge of building codes, design documentation, and construction administration practices

Technical Skills

  • Ability to read and interpret architectural, structural, and MEP drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite, well-practiced in PowerPoint for presentations to clinical and executive audiences

Core Competencies

  • Exceptional organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and proven ability to maintain accuracy across multiple concurrent healthcare projects
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple priorities simultaneously in fast-paced, deadline-driven healthcare environments where patient safety is paramount
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical information clearly to non-technical clinical stakeholders
  • Proven track record of influencing and driving accountability across teams without direct authority, building collaborative relationships to achieve shared project goals
  • Detail-oriented, analytical, responsible and devoted to work with proven skills and track record in demanding project environments

Preferred Qualifications
