This role protects client assets through reliability-based maintenance programs, strict regulatory compliance, and strong team leadership that maximizes building performance and long-term value. As the technical and operational leader on site, the Chief Engineer balances hands-on system oversight with people management, serving as a critical link between facility performance and client satisfaction.\nWhat your day-to-day will look like:\nMonitor, maintain, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and mechanical/electrical equipment to ensure consistent building performance.\nSupervise engineering and maintenance staff, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance management.\nEnsure compliance with the Critical Facility Work Authorization (CFWA) process among staff, tenants, and contractors.\nManage contractor activities and maintain adequate inventory of tools, parts, and supplies.\nIdentify safety hazards, implement remediation plans, and administer safety training programs across the team.\nMaintain Federal, State, and Local regulatory compliance, including infrastructure documentation and equipment inspection records.\nBuild and manage client relationships through formal and informal meetings, gathering and acting on feedback to improve service delivery.\nRequired Qualifications:\nBachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or related technical field preferred\n7+ years of building operations and maintenance experience\n3+ years of supervisory experience managing engineering and maintenance teams\nStrong working knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and mechanical/electrical systems\nExperience with commercial building systems and critical facility operations\nProven ability to hire, train, and manage staff performance\nSolid understanding of regulatory compliance requirements and safety program implementation\nPreferred Qualifications:\nProfessional Engineering (PE) license\nFacilities management certifications (CFM, FMP, SFP)\nHVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems certifications\nExperience with critical facilities such as data centers, hospitals, or laboratories\nKnowledge of energy management, sustainability programs, and CMMS systems\nFamiliarity with building automation systems and predictive maintenance technologies\nUnderstanding of building commissioning and performance optimization practices\nLocation:\nCheektowaga, NY\nWork Shift:\n08 Hour Day - 1st Shift/Morning Shift\nThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
