The Chief Engineer is responsible for protecting and improving the value of the client’s assets and will be expected to provide recommendations for operational and capital improvements.\nResponsibilities\nOversee the maintenance and continuous operation of all building systems including: fire/life safety, mechanical (HVAC, plumbing, controls) electrical (lighting, UPS, PDU, generators, primary switch gear), lighting and temperature controls systems, critical environments, light construction (painting, doors, relites, locks), digital systems (fire alarm, duress, card access), and Audio/Visual services. \nSupervise and manage engineers and maintenance staff including hiring, training, coaching and personal development\nIdentify maintenance objectives of the facility and incorporate those objectives into a documented plan that includes preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance procedures\nIdentify safety hazards within the building and incorporate the remediation of such hazards to ensure that the building’s staff and occupants work in a safe environment. Implement, administer, and manage safety training program\nCommunicate daily with client, General Manager and property team to…\nManage compliance with all safety procedures, maintaining good housekeeping and safety of work areas. Recognize danger and safety hazards and propose methods to eliminate them\nAssist in the development of a capital improvement plan, including infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and building modifications\nServe on the Special Operations leadership team advisory committee to help develop elements of the engineering operations product and ensure compliance with the firm’s internal policies and procedures\nSelect, schedule, supervise and direct contractors; monitor and document performance. \nRespond effectively to all emergencies and service calls\nLead and organize ongoing technical, safety, and operational process training programs\nMaintain a clean and safe work environment and maintain compliance to State, County, or City Ordinances, Codes, or Laws\nOther projects and tasks to be assigned\nPreferred Qualifications\nHigh school diploma or equivalent\nValid state driver’s license\n7+ years of related experience, especially as a Chief Engineer, Assistant Chief Engineer or similar\n2+ years of experience managing an engineering/maintenance team\nTrade school education, union training, military service or college is desirable\nUniversal CFC EPA certification\nOperating Engineer license or similar (as applicable by state regulations)\nExperience using Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, Teams)\nExperience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and building automation systems (BAS)\nAbility to lift up to 50 lbs\nComfort using ladders up to 30 feet tall\nAbility to frequently climb, bend, kneeling, lift and/or drive\nStrong customer service and communication skills\nThis position does not provide visa sponsorship.
