What this job involves:

Join our facilities operations team as a Custodian, where you'll play a vital role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for clients, employees, and visitors through professional cleaning, sanitization, and facility maintenance services. This position is essential to JLL's commitment to delivering exceptional workplace experiences by ensuring all areas of the facility are properly cleaned, sanitized, and maintained according to established practices and procedures. You'll be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing restrooms, maintaining floors and carpets, emptying trash containers, refilling supplies, and supporting facility setup for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events. This is an excellent opportunity for detail-oriented professionals who take pride in their work, demonstrate strong teamwork, and contribute to creating effective, safe, and well-maintained workplace environments while working collaboratively with other team members and following all safety procedures and policies established by management.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Clean and sanitize facility restrooms and bathrooms using established practices and procedures, clean and dust furniture, sweep and mop or vacuum floors, empty and clean wastebaskets and trash containers, and refill restroom dispensers while re-ordering supplies as needed.

  • Strip, clean, buff, and apply floor sealer and floor finish to hard surface floors, vacuum and shampoo carpets, and use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees.

  • Assist with setup of facilities for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events as required, move furniture, equipment, supplies, and tools on an as-needed basis, and wash accessible interior and exterior windows.

  • Document cleaning activities on daily logs, check for unlocked doors and windows throughout the facility, report any unauthorized occupants, turn off lights in vacant rooms, and report safety concerns to supervisor.

  • Remove debris from outside sidewalks, grounds, and parking lots, handle recycling materials, assist with inventory control as needed, and load/unload boxes of containers, tops, product, and packaging materials using manual pallet jack.

  • Enforce and support policies established by management including safety procedures, cooperate and work with other employees to make an effective team, share information and ideas to improve individual and team effectiveness, and identify quality problems and report them to supervisor.

Required Qualifications:

  • Adequate skills to perform required job functions with minimal supervision and ability to communicate well in both oral and written reports.

  • Ability to operate equipment as needed including buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, vacuums, and manual pallet jacks for cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture.

  • Ability to perform all duties in a timely and effective manner and stand for long periods of time on a regular basis.

  • Ability to perform all essential job functions safely and effectively including ability to lift up to 25 pounds, bend, stoop, reach, stand for extended periods, and move throughout the work environment as required by job duties while maintaining physical positioning and mobility necessary to complete tasks in accordance with safety protocols and company standards.

  • Team player with ability to cooperate and work with other employees to make an effective team, share information and ideas, follow safety procedures, and identify and understand quality criteria for task performance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Able to work in a customer service environment interacting with the client with good interpersonal skills demonstrating professionalism and courtesy.

  • Proficient with computer-based systems and programs, including Microsoft Office and Outlook, for documentation, communication, and reporting purposes.

  • Experience with inventory control, supply ordering, and monitoring of cleaning materials and equipment to ensure adequate stock levels.

  • Previous custodial or facilities maintenance experience demonstrating knowledge of established cleaning practices, procedures, and quality standards for commercial or corporate environments.

  • Proven ability to identify quality problems, document activities accurately on daily logs, and contribute to continuous improvement of cleaning operations and team effectiveness.

Location: Onsite

Work Schedule: The employee will be assigned to either 1st or 2nd shift, Monday to Friday.
