The position
We are looking for a Data Science Manager to join the Enterprise Data Science Group to serve as a senior, hands-on manager and the group lead's close partner. You'll start by leading multiple strong data scientists internationally, driving several of our applied research tracks, with a clear mandate to grow the team in Tel Aviv as new projects land: hiring, setting vision and roadmaps, and aligning stakeholders on goals and KPIs. One of the most ambitious parts of the roadmap is building custom language models for JLL, models adapted to commercial real estate on proprietary data few companies can match for various use cases.
The role offers a rare combination of hard, real-world applied research, leadership, and the full stack including dozens of data sources, billions of data points, closed and open-weight LLMs, post-training/fine-tuning, agentic workflows, multiple cloud environments, and more. You'll partner with strong data scientists, engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders and see your work land in production.
Representative projects:
- Classifying companies by industry code at scale, combining LLMs, custom embeddings, and classic ML.
- GenAI-based entity resolution, linking companies and properties across dozens of data sources using custom embeddings, deep pipelines, LLMs at scale, fine-tuning, clustering, and more.
- Agentic, LLM-based, and ML-driven recommender systems for driving cross-sell and up-sell across our diverse businesses.
- Forecasting commercial lease rent dynamics and market trends from JLL's global transaction and market data using millions of leases and diverse input.
- Building agents and MCP servers that put our research and data to work.
- Exploratory research for incorporating the latest approaches (tabular foundation models, time-series foundation models, multi-agent pipelines, reinforcement learning, auto-research, novel evaluation methods, etc.) into our work.
We are looking for:
- 2+ years managing data scientists, AI researchers, ML engineers or similar.
- Strong leadership mentality where you inspire your team, initiate beyond core data science, and partner with product and business to spot new project opportunities.
- Proven ML/AI excellence, with recent years focused on GenAI.
- A track record of leading multi-person efforts end-to-end, shipping to production, and creating lasting value.
- Comfortable with communicating your work internally and externally.
- A strong research track record (e.g., scientific publications, technical reports/blogs, conference talks).
- An MSc (PhD an advantage) in computer science, math, or another quantitative field, or equivalent experience.
Ways to stand out:
- Hands-on post-training of open-weight models (e.g. Llama/Qwen-class): SFT, preference optimization (DPO/GRPO), LoRA vs. full fine-tuning, and synthetic data curation
- Distributed training (FSDP, DeepSpeed) or high-throughput LLM serving (vLLM, SGLang)
- Experience with agentic systems: tools and MCP design, multi-agent orchestration, context engineering, and rigorous evaluation
- An entrepreneurial track record
