Ensure integrated design delivery, construction quality, and successful commissioning of world-class data centre infrastructure meeting Tier III/IV certification standards.\nKey Responsibilities\nTechnical Leadership & Coordination\nLead and coordinate multidisciplinary engineering teams across MEP, structural, civil, and architectural disciplines\nProvide technical direction for all design phases from concept through detailed engineering and construction\nReview and approve integrated engineering designs, calculations, and specifications for compliance with data centre standards (Uptime Institute, ASHRAE, TIA-942)\nEnsure design integration between disciplines resolving conflicts and optimizing system interfaces\nEstablish technical standards, best practices, and quality benchmarks for the project\nDesign Management\nOversee consultant deliverables including design reports, drawings, BOQ, and technical specifications\nLead design review meetings and technical coordination sessions with all stakeholders\nApprove major equipment selection including power systems, cooling infrastructure, fire suppression, and building management systems\nOptimize designs for energy efficiency, operational reliability, and lifecycle costs\nEnsure redundancy levels (N, N+1, 2N) align with client requirements and uptime objectives\nProject Execution & Quality Assurance\nManage engineering scope, schedule, and budget throughout project lifecycle\nCoordinate with Client representatives, JLL project management, consultants, and contractors\nConduct regular site inspections to verify construction quality and design compliance\nReview and approve contractor submittals, shop drawings, method statements, and material certifications\nImplement rigorous quality control procedures across all engineering disciplines\nIdentify and resolve technical issues proactively to maintain project momentum\nCommissioning & Handover\nDevelop comprehensive commissioning strategy covering all building systems\nOversee pre-commissioning, commissioning, and integrated systems testing activities\nCoordinate Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)\nEnsure successful completion of performance testing and Tier certification requirements\nLead preparation of O&M manuals, as-built documentation, and training programs\nSupport smooth transition to operations team\nCompliance & Risk Management\nEnsure compliance with Indian building codes (NBC, IS standards), fire safety regulations, and environmental requirements\nCoordinate statutory approvals from local authorities and regulatory bodies\nIdentify technical risks and develop mitigation strategies\nMonitor HSE compliance across all engineering activities\nPrepare technical reports and presentations for senior management and client\nRequired Qualifications\nEducation & Certification\nBachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil)\nMaster's degree or MBA preferred\nProfessional Engineer (PE) or Chartered Engineer status advantageous\nData centre certifications (CDCP, CDCE, CDCS) highly desirable\nExperience\n15+ years in engineering management with 10+ years in mission-critical facilities\nProven experience managing large-scale data centre projects (minimum 10 MW capacity)\nTrack record leading multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex infrastructure projects\nExperience with Tier III or Tier IV certified facilities strongly preferred\nKnowledge of Indian construction industry, procurement practices, and regulatory environment\nTechnical Expertise\nDeep understanding of data centre design principles across all engineering disciplines\nExpert knowledge of critical power systems, cooling infrastructure, and building systems\nProficiency in engineering design software (AutoCAD, Revit, HAP, ETAP, DIALux)\nStrong grasp of energy modeling, CFD analysis, and performance optimization techniques\nFamiliarity with modular data centre concepts and prefabrication methodologies\nLeadership & Management Skills\nDemonstrated ability to lead large, diverse engineering teams\nStrong stakeholder management and client relationship skills\nExcellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities\nOutstanding communication skills with technical and non-technical audiences\nExperience managing consultant performance and contractor coordination\nProven track record delivering projects on time, within budget, and to quality standards\nKey Competencies\nStrategic technical vision with attention to operational detail\nStrong leadership presence and ability to influence across organizational boundaries\nClient-focused approach with commitment to excellence\nAdaptability in fast-paced, high-pressure environments\nProactive risk identification and problem resolution\nCollaborative mindset with cross-functional teams\nWorking Conditions\nBased at project site in Dholera, Gujarat with full-time presence required during critical phases. Extended hours during design milestones, construction peaks, and commissioning activities. Regular travel to consultant offices, vendor facilities, and JLL locations as needed. Site work requires appropriate PPE and adherence to safety protocols.\nReporting Structure\nReports to Senior Project Director/Programme Manager for Data Centre project. Provides functional leadership to discipline leads (Mechanical, Electrical, Structural) and coordinates with JLL's Technical Director.
