This is an exceptional opportunity to develop and progress your career within the fire and security engineering sector, working with the latest technologies across both disciplines.\nIn this pivotal role, you will be responsible for the service, planned preventative maintenance (PPM), installation, configuration, and technical support of fire alarm systems and integrated security systems, ensuring our clients across the North receive exceptional technical service and system reliability.\nYou will receive comprehensive training on our range of products through our chosen manufacturers, industry-recognised training courses, and our in-house product training facility, supporting your continuous professional development.\nFire Alarm Systems:\nConduct servicing, PPM, and technical support on fire alarm systems including addressable and conventional panels across the North region\nPerform routine maintenance, testing, and fault diagnosis on fire detection and alarm systems to ensure compliance with BS5839 standards\nCommission fire alarm systems and carry out statutory inspections and compliance checks\nRespond to emergency callouts and provide reactive maintenance support\nMaintain detailed service records, certification, and compliance documentation\nSecurity Systems:\nInstall, configure, and commission integrated security systems including CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, and related technologies\nPerform routine and reactive maintenance on security systems to ensure optimal performance and reliability\nConduct software updates, hardware upgrades, and comprehensive system diagnostics\nConfigure and install remote signalling devices, commission systems, and fully test signalling to Alarm Receiving Centres (ARCs)\nOther\nProvide expert technical support to clients on fire and security system issues across the Manchester and North region\nDiagnose and resolve problems remotely or on-site, ensuring customer satisfaction and minimal downtime\nDeliver professional service on planned preventative maintenance (PPM) visits and emergency callouts\nProvide end-user training on the effective operation and maintenance of fire and security systems\nMaintain accurate and detailed records of system configurations, installation procedures, service histories, and troubleshooting activities\nComplete service reports, certification, and compliance documentation promptly and thoroughly\nKeep meticulous records demonstrating attention to detail, quality, and customer service excellence\nComfortable being part of a team, offering support and encouraging attitude\nWork closely with colleagues, project managers, clients, and suppliers to deliver tailored, integrated solutions\nParticipate in on-call rota to provide responsive emergency support\nProvide occasional coverage in other areas within the North region, which may require overnight stays when necessary\nEnsure all work complies with relevant health and safety legislation, industry standards (including BS5839, BS8494), and company policies\nStay current with emerging technologies, regulatory changes, and best practices in fire and security engineering\nWhat We're Looking For\nEssential Skills & Experience:\nFire Systems:\nProven and demonstrable experience in fire alarm systems maintenance gained over a number of years\nComprehensive knowledge and understanding of BS5839 standards and their practical application\nExperience servicing and maintaining both addressable and conventional fire alarm systems\nSecurity Systems:\nProven experience installing, configuring, and maintaining security systems (CCTV, access control, intrusion detection)\nStrong technical competence in networking protocols, hardware installation, and fault diagnosis\nProficiency in security protocols including TCP/IP, SSL, AES, and relevant signalling standards\nGeneral Requirements:\nFull UK Driving Licence (essential)\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, colleagues, and suppliers\nAbility to provide professional service demonstrating meticulous attention to detail, quality, and customer care\nCapable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team\nReliability and punctuality-essential qualities for this role\nDetail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities\nHighly Desirable:\nFIA (Fire Industry Association) qualifications or equivalent fire alarm training\nRelevant professional certifications (e.g., ECS/CSCS cards, NSI/SSAIB accreditation, Certified Security Systems Professional, or equivalent)\nWillingness to participate in the on-call rota to support emergency response requirements\nWhat We
